How does Nikon's DSLR weather sealing hold up to a typical UK rainy day ?

For a base point, the D7*00 series and 35 1.8 dx have some degree of weather sealing. Can I get away with using them on a rainy day ?

Nikon will never commit to what their weather sealing can withstand, nor will many other manufacturers for that matter.
I didn’t think the 35mm was weather sealed tbh and if I’m right I wouldn’t risk taking it out in the rain.

Generally though Nikon’s weather sealing tends to be pretty good from my experience, although I’ve not owned a D7xxx.

I have had 7000 series cameras out in the rain before with weather sealed lenses and never had a problem.
I can't comment if your lens is weather sealed though.

You can't really expect any camera manufacture give precise details on how effective their weather sealing is. I could forsee multi claims saying they had the camera out in a hurricane with rain lashing down and the camera got ruined. Common sense should prevail ,not something stupid like trying to photograph a rubber duck on the surface from under the bath water

Can't speak for that lens, but I had both my D7000 and D7100 out on some absolutely foul days at various racetracks with no ill effects. It wasn't something I ever worried about, although it was usually the case that as the weather got really bad the lack of light and crap results would have me putting the camera away anyway.

i've had my d810 and 750 out in pretty heavy rain and it's been absolutely fine although i think it's best to try and avoid such things whenever possible!
