Hey all...

I am off to Autosport International on 16th Jan (platinum tickets at the ready  ).

Going to take my D90 and (probably) 50mm f1.8 rather than the 18-105 but I think I am going to need a spare battery, too.
Is it worth buying a genuine Nikon EN-EL3e, or just a couple of cheapies from an online store ?

Any recommendations ?

(I don't think a grip and batteries from ebay is going to arrive in time.)

Cheers,
Daniel.

i have an energiser one which seems quite good and a little cheaper than a nikon one

Cheers chaps - I will look into the Duracell one

LOL - just ordered the Energizer one from 7dayshop for £12 delivered :D

thanks for the info just been and orered myself one.

Has your's turned up yet ? Autosport is next weekend so I hope mine turns up in time :|

I found out today(through the ncie people on this forum) that there's no difference. Only when it comes to warranty issues you shouldn't send in an aftermarket battery.

Their compatibility list appears to be for the EN-EL3 battery!

However the description and picture shows EN-EL3e so will be OK for a D90 as long as that is what they send, and if it is an EN-EL3e it is a very good price!

no it hasnt come yet, starting to look a bit iffy!

Order status changed today to 'dispatched'... fingers crossed - I need it by Saturday.

They're a good very well priced company, with the only downside being postage times - can take a while for things to be dispatched/delivered.

Hopefully you'll have yours in time for your trip...

I'd stick to the genuine ones. they can be had almost new around £20-25 from tp or avforums

reicieved part of my order i had also ordered some paper, parcel came today the paper was there but no battery.

I got my battery today... charged up no problem. Camera recognises it and it seems to work fine.

Bargain.

It came from Guernsey, so I guess that accounts for some of the delay.

most of 7 day shop stuff comes from the channel islands

Doesn't match the style of the batteries shown there, but maybe Nikon have changed the labels as this appears to be in a newer box?

However, it doesn't look like the ebay one has the 4 notches in the hologram label that the genuine one has and the title in the auction says '100% New Digital camera generic battery' - note generic not genuine.

ahh this is helpful. Didn't know Nikon had something like this. thanks!

ah ah ,i will definately use 7dayshop again, now that i know you have got to be prepared to wait awhile.
