Nikon D90, Nissin Di622 Mark II, what trigger?!

They do work remotely using Nikons built in controls using the D90 as commander. Dont think any triggers work with them although they can be upgraded by sending them back to the importers

I'm pretty sure it's only the Mk1 Di622 that won't work with dumb (ones that don't do TTL) triggers. But I don't think you can use your D90 on it's own to trigger the RF-602, you need both bits.

I use the Nissin Di-622mk11 with the RF-R602s with no problems. (On a 7D)

I'm sure that the MII is wireless compatable so you can use Nikons CLS to fire it .

Why not just use the 7D as the commander to fire it ?

The range using the 7D as commander is limited, especially outdoors or if you hide the flashes behind objects.

Good point Mike .

How do I do this?! This would be great for now as I want to shoot interiors and food/still life so I don't need an expensive option

I presume its with the pre-flash of the inbuilt flash on the D90 but I don't know how to set this up.

i seem to recall you have to set the D90 flash to commander mode, which sends out the pre-flash. It didn't work brilliantly in a well lit room though and had angle limitations. Think I need to trade it up for a better flash. (ant suggestions??)
