Just joined. Am retired now and like photography. Have purchased a Nikon D90
which came with a 18-55mm DX which obviously works fine.
Was given a AF Nikkor 50mm f1.4 D lens. If I set it to the orange f16 apurture
and lock it on I can take nice sharp pictures no problem, but if I set the camera to a manual focus setting and stop down to anything from f11 to f1.4 I receive an fEE error message. I would like to try some closeup photography with this lens and create what is known as the bokeh effect i.e a sharp close-up image with a smooth blurred background.
I can't achieve this with f16 but if I take it off its orange lock it wont shoot but shows this fEE error message.
Any advise please?
Thanks, buryman
