Nikon D800......

Does anyone here post anything on 500px? I signed up and put a photo on there and I was amazed with the response it got. Within a few hours it had over 100 like and 500+ views. Makes me chuffed that so many other people like a photo I'd taken

quick question is someone could help. Ive not been a member of this forum for long enough but is there anyone in the classifieds selling either a 24-85mm or 18-35mm nikon lens? I'm after either and thought someone on here may be selling one?

Hi David, I'm on 500px, though not with D800 pics. Sounds like a very popular photo, much better response than I have ever got, could you share a link please? :)

I received my 18-35mm lens yesterday and had planned to go and got some shots with it today. Its a really bright sunny day and I wanted to visit the British museum. Ive been to the dentist though and after 2 fillings and 2 large injections its left me unable to feel my face haha home for a bit i think now :/

A fruitful morning trip to this little village where a unique structure stands.
Managed to capture the winter colour and frost in this time of the year which makes the waiting worth while.

I've been procrastinating about buying a D810 for several months. The additional £350 trade-in offer that Grays of Westminster were offering was almost a deal clincher. But the thought of the D810's successor made me hesitant. I decided to ride out the storm and wait. But they kept extending the offer. And then, on March 16, the offer finally ended. Decision made. I'll wait for the replacement. Until today. They've only gone and extended it until the end of March!

This is really going to test my resolve.

Should I buy a D810 now or wait? I can live with centre focus. I never shoot continuously. I don't need high ISO performance. I have an old D80 my wife occasionally uses that I could trade-in.

Buy now and regret my decision the instant the D810's successor is announced? Will I 'really' notice the likely difference?

Whilst I realise this is entirely my decision, I'd really appreciate your thoughts.

Adrian;

My thoughts are that if there is a new D810 model release it'll be full whack price for quite a while before discounts come available. I've bought my D810 body only within the past few months new from Panamoz and so far LOVING it (did I ever tell you how quiet the shutter is......?....amazing!!).
I'm not sure what upgrades the new model will have...?...maybe more mega-pixels...?....I think 36mp is more than enough for anyone to cope with. More MP's means bigger storage and huge file sizes to cope with, my elderly laptop is already getting it tight with the D810 files but I've a couple of spare terabyte hdd's handy to relieve space.

You can pick up D800 used bodies for around £750/£800 and for a few pound more a D800E which are all excellent value for money right now....!!!

Go with your heart my friend!

Enjoying the 20, Peter?
Yes thanks, hardly used it to be honest due to working looong nightshifts, had an awful week at work but I've quite a few days off now to try get using my photo equipment again!

I'm ordering a 135mm f2 DC v.soon.

I bought an almost new D800 with a 50mm F1.8 lens for £820 a few weeks ago and love it. Why not buy the 810 now with the savings, then you could always sell it on when the new model comes out. With your discount your getting you surely wouldn't loose much?

Great photos on here again [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

Adrian, if you want it then go for it now, then you get to use it for the 6 months before the new one comes out [emoji3]

I was due to sell my D750 and some lenses a few weeks ago, twice! The collection was put on hold due to health reasons. I noticed they have come down in price this weekend and for me its easier to send my gear off to the dealer rather than messing around on here and waiting for the cash to come in,to buy grey which I have with my last three D750's.

So today I have decided to go with a Uk model and will get Clare to wrap my gear up this weekend and hopefully with a bit of luck I will be a D810 owner this time next week (sound like Del Boy there!)... Myself, I think the new D820 will maybe have 42 or 50mp, perhaps some of the features of the D5 may trickle down, but IMO the D810 is no slouch now, so think it's representing excellent value now for UK models.

Lovely shot Peter, only niggle is the pannels either side as a fixed focal length maybe a step or three to balance them to get those vertical lines in sync..... LHS same as RHS you probably would have removed the cars in the car park reflecting in the windscreen, dont think they add anything to the overall image unless they are all the same make of course hard to tell, thank you fpr sharing

I've just bought a D810 to replace my venerable D700 that I've been using since 2009, so looking forward to having a play! First impressions are it's a little lighter but still feels a good solid camera, more so than the D750 I had a play with, which felt a little unsubstantial. I just need to find something interesting to point it at now!

Have an Tamron 70-200 2.8 (pre owned) ordered to pop on the end of my d810. Had the sigma previously which was very decent for the price. Have heard a lot of good things about the tammy so hoping I get a good one.
