There doesn't seem to be one of these so I'm starting this one?

Got a question for owners - looking at getting a Zacuto Z finder and Zacuto say their current ones aren't compatible with the D800/D4/1dX etc as the screens are larger. There is one coming out soon apparently.

However I've seen reviews where users have put their z-finders onto the d800 and say it works fine despite the size change. Can anyone here confirm they've tried it and found it to be ok?

Had a problem today. Went to a job this morning but found my D800 pretty much frozen. Take out battery, put it back, no difference. Turns out to be a memory card problem. I was using a Calumet compact flash card which - according to Calumet - is non compatible. The shops aren't allowed - I was told - to sell their own cards to D4 and D800 owners. Using only Sandisk from now on.

The D800, it seems, is quite fussy about memory cards. There is a list of approved memory cards on page 434 of the manual, that have been tested and are known to work with the camera.

HTH

Oh! I hope pre-emmptively buying a Sandisk 16 Extreme Pro was the right thing to do.

Think you'l be alright with Sandisks. I've had no issues.

I use Sandisks too, no problem, but they are on the Nikon approved list, along with cards by Lexar, Panasonic, and Toshiba, though not all cards supplied by each maker.

Not had the D800 long but had a play yesterday and am loving the resolution... look at the lower eyelashes on the 100% crop of this quick headshot... Croptastic!

What chances I have to get d800 within one month if I haven't preordered yet?
Let's say I would do it this or next week?

Any ideas??

I got mine in 10 days or ordering about a week ago from Jessops.

So fingers crossed you will be ok...

I got a 16GB CF & SD Sandisk Extreme and both work without issue. I thought I would just help with a list of OK cards...

That sounds good

I managed to pick a D800 up at Dixons duty free last week on my way out to Belarus. Stunned they had one on the shelf, only went in on the off chance!
Don't suppose they gave any hint as to how much of a one off that was? I would be tempted to fly over to Denmark to see my mate for a weekend just to get the camera if I knew they would have one in stock! Can I ask how much you paid for it duty-free?

The lady who served me said they were selling as quick as they came in and I did well to get the last one. They had no display units (or space for one) I just saw a box on the wall behind counter and asked if it was real stock. I paid £2389. So I just got lucky it would seem!

Anyone used remote triggers with d800?
Need some and not sure if yougnuo will work...

At same time, i thought I will be able to record 30min clips....now I know it's only 20....

Aye. I sue the Hahnel Giga T Pro II (£69). Seems to work just fine but I wouldn't keep plugging/unplugging the jack plus from the head unit as it might weaken the socket. I think this is true for any piece of electronic equipment with jack plugs. If you can, leave it in at all times. Removing the 10 pin plug from the cameras 10 pin socket shouldn't be a probelm.

I meant flash triggers...
