Nikon D800 And D4 Rumours

I'm completely lost with the Nikon naming it makes no sense. So the new D90 is the D7000 nice & clear but then D800 D4 etc, not very clear IMO. Plus I thought a D3 was a higher spec camera to a D700??

Err nope

Consumer cameras

D3x00
D5x00
D7x00
D90

Pro cameras

D300 s
D700

Large Pro cameras

D3
D3s
D3x

The D90 is likely to disappear though but at the moment we have both D90 and D7000.

SOOO shortly

4 figure = comsumer
3 figure = small pro
1 figure = large pro

Thanks for that! That is the order I thought just getting a little confused with the new models :)

I neither want nor need any more MP so I'll stick with my D700s. I do shoot alongside a great wedding shooter who works with a 5DII and the files just take soooooooo long to download!

At their native resolution I have more than enough for the largest size album I offer and even a little cropping is fine. I'd quite like the video for short clips to add to slideshows but I'm thinking I'd rather add a D300. Gives me FF and crop, three bodies for backup and would cost a shedload less :)

Happy to see all manufacturers pushing boundaries because we all benefit in the end so Go Nikon! :)

Been using a 4mp Canon 1d mk1 recently and I'v been blown away by the iq.
Definitely made me re-evaluate my desire for more pixels.
