Nikon D80 and Capture

Does the Nikon D80 come with capture fx? I am trying to determine weather I've missed placed it, or never had it in the first place.

yeah mine came with it, at least i think it was FX?

ive never used it though. im too hooked on Photoshop

Capture NX I assume? Mine came with it, used it once, was really slow, so I use photoshop now. I can send you my CD if you want?

Yes, I meant NX. I also use photoshop but I wanted to try some tethered shooting with my laptop and believe NX is the only way to do that?

Thank you for your offer of sending me the CD, I will continue the hunt for my copy first. I've got a feeling where it is but didn't want to empty out the room until I was sure I actually owned a copy.

I think you have to use camera control pro for tethered shooting?

Capture NX does not enable tethered shooting - you need Camera Control Pro available for about £90 or thereabouts.

By 'tethered shooting', do you mean using a PC/laptop to control the camera, ie take a photo, etc?

I wasn't going to use the computer to control the camera but just so I could have image review on the big screen.

Same thing - you can either use the laptop to fire the shutter remotely and/or view instantly images captured on the screen. However you need the cable attached to both laptop & camera to achieve either.
