having bust the d7500 at riat while working as a volunteer in the friat enclosure (impact with concrete ) not sure if to replace with another one one or go mirrorless
,i dont really know anything about nikon mirrorless as ive been quite happy with the d7500
is the Zfc or Z50 comparable or do i need to look at the full frame range of which i was advised Z6II money wise its a lot for what use i give them nowadays airshows & aircraft with bit of wildlife & macro thrown in ,

thanks in advance

IMHO - Surely natural upgrade would be the D500 whilst you still can !

ditto D500

I had a D7100 and needed bigger buffer depth so went looking for a D7200 but snagged a D500 for not much more. Brilliant, superb crop sensor camera for everything especially sports/wildlife if you can't reach to a D850.

The Z's are really good for general photography but, unless you are wedded to eye AF, then IF you need blazing AF-C acquition and "stickiness" then its the D500/D850.D5or6. Forget the current Z's except for the Z9. In 6 months to 1 year it will be very different. Right now Canon R5/A1/Z9 have the lead - maybe the R70 ??

I haven't had the d7500 but it reads pretty OK ( except for some issues with ai-s )

DON'T discount the robust build quality of a D500/D5-6 compared to a D7XXX - in view of your experiences. A pro quality body that works albeit with lower tech specs is worth far more than a shiny new all singing cam that fails when you need it to work.

FWIW, my current large sensor kit is a Z6 + D500

Another vote for the D500, having used the D7*00 you'll feel at home straight away...

Alternatively, if your pennies don't stretch to D500, why not get another D7500? You'll then not have to bother buying XQD cards (which are not cheap!).

thanks for all the replys
the insurance has supplied like for like so at least i am back up again.
based on the comments i might still consider a D500 second hand model as a 2nd body

many thanks
andy
