So I've just been out on a shoot and everything that could have gone wrong did, luckily towards the end of it. Flashgun decided it was going to malfunction, so I resorted to using my on-camera flash on the D7500. However in manual mode I raise the flash, fire of a shot, go to fire another shot and nothing happens. Tried closing and reopening the flash but after closing I can no longer open the flash up. Have to fully turn off and on the camera to get the flash up again and take a single shot and repeat. Anybody any ideas where im going wrong with the settings or is it a camera malfunction.

Could be just that the camera battery isn't sufficiently charged.
