Yes
I wish to purchase one of these cameras but cant decide which. I know the 810 is about £800 dearer so I suppose you get what you pay for.
I would do a couple of airshows per year but the rest would be landscapes and general photography. Not into sports or cars but would do one motor cycle road race per year.
Would anyone like to give me their opinions please

To be honest you can't go wrong with either. If you need the extra MP to crop then the D810 is the way to go. For the price the D750 is a steal, specially when the extra £800 could be put towards a nice lens (although that doesn't seem to be a problem if your profile is up to date).

Thanks Rob. The idea of transferring images to my smartphone and hence onwards to the internet appeals to me. I think I'll probably go the 750 route

I have to say I had 3 D750s and was never really blown away by it other than shadow recovery ability.

Myriad of issues one after the other tbh

I'd go for a grey D810 or based on recent price drops even a UK model

Don't like the sound of that F/1.4!

I had a similar D750 vs D810 dilemma, so I went and fondled them both in a shop. Went with the D810 in the end as it felt like a slightly lighter version of my D700. The D750 felt like my old D70, and less substantial in the hand. Spec wise I'd have been happy with either.

I have a D750 and think its an excellent camera. Ideally I would prefer a D750 in a D810 body, as I have come from D300 and D700 so used to that pro feel.

In some ways the D750 being smaller and lighter is nice though, but don't like the mode dial - prefer the pro layout. Also prefer the larger focus area on the D700 (so assume the 810 is the same). The shadow recovery is great, ISO performance is great. File size size is plenty big enough. I would go for the D750 and put the money towards glass.

I bought the d810 grey.
I first held both in my hands and disliked the grip and balance of the 750 when I added the lenses I would typically be using all day.
All the 750 problems were off-putting also.

I if you don't publish and are not into extreme reach wildlife,
the D750 is the tool of choice.

I have a D750 which I think is a very good camera ..... IMHO it is streets ahead of the DX bodies that I have had. It is difficult to compare the D750 with the D700 ......... (or presumably the D800 or D810) .... they are just different bodies ...... the only other FX body that I have had

I have just got a D810 ....... just used it for a couple of days - the UI and feel are like the D700 ....... which is different from the D750 ....... also there is a significant size and weight difference

The bigger D810 RAW files take a longer time to process ..... i.e. to load into any computer software......... which is frustrating, (OK I can upgrade my computer, but I have a 5K)

I would think that the IQ will be the same in many of the images that I take ...... birds and wildlife ........ I would not think that in most images I will see any difference between the D750 and D810

I always like to have a couple of options when I am shooting birds - so for me it is the D750 hand held with the 300mm PF plus of minus a TC ...... and the D810 on my tripod with the 600mm plus or minus the 1,4TC ........

If I had to buy just one of the two, I think that it would be the D750, based on size and weight and therefore flexibility

Just my views from maybe a different angle
