Seeing that this is the font of all photographic knowledge can anyone help with this. The last two times I've imported my pics into Lightroom they load in an entirely haphazard way. They used to load in the order they were taken, and it's a real pain trying to compare similar shots. Anyone know why?

Dunno why, have you ran an update recently? You can change the way images are sorted though. Make sure you're in the library module then got to view>sort then choose your option. I usually sort mine by filename.

Import initially or import into the develop module once you've selected the pics you want?

If the latter, there is a little drop down menu that allows you to import in selected order or capture time etc...

If it's the other one then I think there is a setting someone in the user preference bit.

Thanks it's When first import is done I'll have a look later and see if I can find the user preference bit, God knows why it's suddenly changed.

These are well captured with lovely expressions but IMO they're a bit to tightly framed.
Thanks, they're deliberately cropped in ppthat way so guess they're not to everyone's tastes

Mines been doing the same on import since the last update but as soon as downloaded from the card I select all and sort by time taken, job done. It's a quick fix but not sure why they download in a random order.

Whoever it was that mentioned the high pass filter in photoshop for sharpening, all I can say is thanks very much. What a revelation (y)

Good innit! I saw it in one of Elia Locardi's vids, so you can thank him for that...:)

I tried it and didn't like it too much. What kind of number are you adjusting to? Perhaps I was doing it wrong. Which blending mode did you use?
Between 2-5, and 'overlay'. If I've understood your question. :)

I`m thinking of getting the Tamron 150-600 G2, price is now £1099 from Hdew, Its will be arriving soon in the shop,
should I ?
Whos got one here, anyone?

£869 at E-Infinity. I've dealt with them before and they were good.
Ay buts what is their warrenty like, "standard" 1 year.
My problem is that I`m not in the UK, would they pay for repair if needed here?
But what a price they have, got me thinking now :wideyed:

About 4 pixels. I use overlay or soft light, but also adjust the percentage to about 70% as otherwise it's too much and it gets artefacts and looks unnatural imo.

Thanks, I tried it at 4 and used overlay but I think I still prefer the sharpen filter tbh.
I need to look at that, I've only ever used PS for cloning before, but think I need to start doing the majority of my editing in there.

I sometimes just use it for eyes, makes them really pop
Can you isolate areas to use the high pass filter then?

I guess if you made a layer mask (is that the right one - the black/white thing), you could use the brush to remove it from where you didn't want it.

Not at my PC, but it makes sense in my tiny mind.... o_O

Duplicate they layer, apply high pass, overlay, mask it, paint it on the eyes

@AndyFo Just imported some snaps into LR and noticed that there is a sort tab at the bottom on the righthand side. Sort by capture time and, voila.

I see that the D810 has £200 off again, D820 even more imminent? I may well be very interested in this as I've been contemplating getting a D500 as a second body for the extra reach but the D820 will likely be 42mp, meaning DX mode is around 18MP, very close to the D500. Unfortunately I can see it being around the £3k mark though :(

All singing, all dancing and made of thicker chocolate ;)

It must be due. Really can't see much of an improvement to warrant one at that price point, which it will undoubtedly be. I'd love to swap my 610 for one, but that won't happen any time soon after my recent purchase. We seem to have peaked a little with technology as releases are becoming slightly longer again, which is no bad thing. My 750 will last me a good while yet before an upgrade thankfully.
