Its a hard life 2 by Graham, on Flickr
Great shot. Looks very dark though?

Didn't try hard enough ;)

Nah I've had a d750 well 2. But loving this d500
Yep, really glad you're happy with it and finding it better than the D750 (y) You're factually wrong with your findings about the sensor but I'm glad you're happy :p

Not only me saying it there. Few d750 togs saying same thing

Lol, I'm not going to get into a debate about it if you're finding the D500 better that's great (y)

Unlike you to pass up on a chance to throw a few reviews up... :D
I could but Rookies believes what Rookies wants to believe ;) :p

Joking aside the DR advantage of the D750 is only 1/2 ev, and that's only at base to around 400 after which they are pretty much identical so are you going to notice this in the real world? Doubt it. Likewise with noise, the D500 is only about 1/2 to 2/3 stop behind (maybe about 1 stop at 12800
and above) which isn't really that noticeable. Add to that the D750 tends to underexpose so if you've not addressed this in your exposure and compensating in post then it makes the images noisier which may be why Rookies is finding the D500 better if he's getting exposure better SOOC with the D500. I find the D750 noise less rough/grainy though.

Either way, he's happy with it and that's all that matters (y).

I agree mate I did enjoy the d750 it a lovely camera. But liking this d500 even more.

If I see a cheap d750 I mean cheap I would still add it to my kit [emoji106]

hmmmm the under expose ill have to check mine out then as i always thought it was over exposing.

That could explain a few things then

I've heard some say that, but for most (from what Ive seen) say it underexposes and the theory is to preserve highlights and rely on Nikon's shadow recovery. It's not gospel, just my observations ;)

But your observations are normally correct, as you have a lot of time on your hands.;);)
I wish that were true (y) I might actually learn how to take decent pics if I did

In all Honesty @snerkler is very good with information and is always there to help anyone who have trouble ETC. He was always there for me when I was a D750 owner one day I could be back only as a 2nd body that only if I feel i need FF.. But at the moment what I have is serving me very well indeed. I be looking in here as well as the D500 thread for lens ideas etc..

The d500 thread is good for ideas on pictures of birds

Not really as I have proved on there anything can be done
I had seen over the past few pages you had tried to change the track of the pictures but mainly it has been the wildlife that had taken over.
(This coming from the man that has flooded this thread with dog/puppy pictures haha)

I was shock myself TBH as I though it was just for Wildlife till I demoed it and fetch the memory card home to look at them then I decided that it I am getting one so i have camera that can do everything for my needs.. It got the reach and with the right lens it got the wide but I dont shoot very wide TBH

Thanks mate.
Nothing wrong with your pics you numpty, you just need to stop being a thread tart :D;)

You would definitely have more time on your hands;)
Haha, thanks. If I was able to go out and take pics at the times I'm on here I would do, but alas I can't so I just spout drivel on here instead ;)

That is the only thing if someone was to look into that thread to see what type of pics it could take, apart from yours recent entries they would think it was only capable of taking shots of birds haha

Would love to put some on here but it clearly be off topic lol

haha i think about 80% of this thread is completely off topic.

You should start a new thread d500 (non wildlife pics)

Thats an idea.. D500 Owner thread All Purpose??

Wouldn't bother me, but I obviously don't speak for everyone.

But what I meant is that I keep telling you not to get so fixated on stats as most cameras are capable of taking superb shots in most scenarios. I don't think it helps that cameras get labelled as a wildlife cam, or a sport cam etc though as some folk do fall into the trap of thinking that's all they can do. There's no reason why you can't get top notch wildlife, portraits, landscapes, sports, street, macro and everything else with your D500, there's no excuses and no hiding now ;) :p

Only reason I have at the moment no bloody lens :exit:

Way too many new toys in this thread ;)

Can those who have one, recommend a sling strap (or whatever they`re called)?

Had the eye piece fly off today for the first time. Then I notice later that the rubber slither that your thumb rests on is peeling away [emoji20] superglue tomorrow it will have to be for both.

Another vote for peak design slide, tried just about every one and this is the best for me as it feels the most secure and has the least swinging and spinning of the camera when walking (in fact it can't spin).

Not good :( Is yours made of dairy milk or galaxy?

This coming from the guy who returned one and decided to give it again again ;)
