Probably, but crop factor is crop factor ;) I was looking at it from a birding point of view, but with a view to how it'd affect my general wildlife. It was the reason I was giving serious consideration to getting the D810 and using it in DX mode as then you get the benefit of FF but with DX reach whilst still maintaining decent resolution. However ergonomically it's not a patch on the D750 for me.

I wanted the cooper but it's so expensive compared to the DNA.

We too in Orkney have one black swan, I never really give it much thought. I believed they were sort of albinos in reverse :-/ until someone told me they were from the southern hemisphere. So the specimen in the wild are likely escaped from a private colony or a zoo and that make them just a fair bit more unusual!
 
I need a better watermark, nothing I do looks quite right but I like others!

Thanks Mr snerkler, I know the BG's are a bit messy but that wasn't the point of the shots, as for the watermark, 1, im really undecided what I want atm and 2, I'm really Crap with processing 2 photos to make a watermark if I decide what I want [emoji53] I still need to earn layers in GIMP as I don't have PS.

Yeah I know right. I splashed out on a Cooper 13 DLSR with a bit of bonus I got from work. It's a great bag, and likely will outlast me!

Sadly my laptop is a little too deep to slip in, but there is plenty of room for a tablet.

My D750 has gone back as it had a damaged sensor. The shop (CEX) took it back and gave me a credit voucher, however I looked around and the quality of camera equipment they take in is shocking, so I probably won't be buying another from there so soon.

The question is, I am very happy with my D500s for the vast majority of things I shoot and prefer using them over the D750. I need to get another body in the not too distant future and want an FX, but I can't decide whether to get another D750 or to get a temporary camera and see what happens next year. When I start looking at older cameras (D700, D800 etc) I keep upping the price and coming back to the D750, but if I do that I won't be able to get a replacement should it come out. What is the likelihood of the D750 or D810 being replaced next year?

Did you get a refund then if their camera stock was poor?
 
Yeah, I've managed to get a few bits and pieces towards Xmas, upgraded my PC a bit (oddly all of the PC components I've ever bought from them have been fine) and picked up a couple or flashes, so it's not a total loss.
 
Did I hear that a D760 is the next entry from the D750? Maybe.

It's a guess what Nikon do, after all the problems with their consumer fx range (D600 and D750) I wouldn't be surprised if they drop the range completely and stay with the d8xx series. It seemed strange to release it as the D750 but then it couldn't be a D710 as it wasn't the same form as the D700, and as a D630 it seems they wanted to draw a line and move away from the oil issues. Nikon numbering is now all over the place, none of it makes sense.

Other than the recall issues I feel the D750 has been a success. It's a great fx camera and has been sold at a great price over the years too. It's brought a lot of people into full frame which is what they seem to have been trying for many years with the d6xx series and holding the D500 back. The photography show is March 2017 which is likely to be next period we could see a replacement. A replacement was rumoured for photokina in September 2016 but didn't materialise. If they do replace it one thing we can be sure of is the price will be a lot more, I wouldnt be surprised at prices around £2-2.5K.

Nikon have had far too many issues for me to ever buy a new release from them again, I will wait for at least a year before buying one. @Toggerman I would consider this in your thoughts on whether to get another D750 or wait for a replacement. It's unlikely we'll see a replacement until spring at the earliest, and then I'd be wanting to wait until they've ironed out any gremlins.

Don't forget the nice price drop so its win win. That said the D750 I picked up was new in May/June 2015 (9-10 months after release) but I've got caught by the second recall (not that I'm sending it in as there does seem to be much point to do it).
 
Was wondering around with the camera today thinking about how the weight of a Fuji might feel, but once I had it on the BR, it really is easy to forget the weight. It kind of made me think that if you use a BR or Peak Designs or any kind of sling, the weight becomes nearly a non issue.

Anyway, that was just my thought of the day lol.
 
Yes, had mine on the BR today all day too (ladies version of course! ;) ) and not bothered by it at all :)
 
Here's 2 from me from today, Gorge du Verdon, was initially hoping to get shots of the griffon vultures but they didn't show [emoji22] was lucky enough when we arrived there was an inversion [emoji3] and a full flare shot, I really like this shot, yeah I know I shouldn't shoot directly into the sun [emoji295] but hey ho.

I'm a complete advocate for sling straps and how weightless they can make camera gear. My D750 and 24-120mm really is no issue all day long on my peak design slide. That being said, when carrying around my XT1 with 18-55mm f2.8-4 there is a marked difference and it is nicer.

Hi Chris, I took it at the 'victorian christmas' event at portsmouth historical dockyard - they're still there today if you're interested!

Edited to say, get someone else to drive - there's lot's of samples to taste & try ;)
