Nikon D750 & D780

I hated the 35mm ART. Which basically makes me the one in a million you always hear about!

That's a statement! I don't think I've seen a bad word about them, you'll need to elaborate now. I still love my 35 1.4G, it's my most used lens, it's always on one of my bodies.

I've warmed to my 24-70G, whilst it's not the most exciting lens, it does serve a purpose for flexibility occasionally and in the studio. Primes are my default weapons of choice,

Maybe I'm just being dramatic. I just found the colours a bit grim and felt like editing was always a pain to get the colours right.

In contrast, I was using the 35mm 1.8G last night and although not outstanding, I thought the colours SOOC were much nicer.

I might have had a bad copy mind, but when I do get a 1.4 I'll be trying the Nikon this time.

The 35mm f1.8g is a little Gem, but never owned the Siggy so can't compare.

The Nikon 1.4g is a great lens, but I was hard pushed to tell the difference is IQ between the 2 Nikon's. Obviously some people want f1.4 so clear winner there!

I did find the 1.4 noticeably slower than the 1.8. I know this is common comparing 1.4 to 1.8 lenses, but in this instance it's a big difference.

I guess if I was a pro and focus speed wasn't a deal breaker, it's a great lens. But for the price, it didn't blow me away.

Just for you @JJ!

Quick grab shot with the 35mm 1.8G. Early doors but I think this is going to be a permanent fixture to an ever changing lineup. The weight on the D750 is superb... Definitely my new street / travel setup, just what I wanted :)

Its awesome, I do like my sigma but the focus is so quick and accurate.

Hi all, I managed to get out today, weather was supposed to be rain and rain but its not really got here yet so I took a chance and went out to the sea front.
St Raphael, South of France, not a bad place I guess.
D750 of course, IRIX 15mm 2.4 @2.4 f1/320
A little work in LR 4 et voila :D

Nice enough shot. The buildings are a little too tightly cropped on the right for my liking though.

Thanks, you think the shot would be better without the building in?

I think the building works, just too close to the edge. Of course this is just my preference though.

Heres another shot, taken whilst turning the camera, does it mess with your head?

Really screws my head :puke:

Thanks David, I'm a rubbish landscape photographer and the flare did irritate me at first, but then I remembered that's exactly how it was (i.e. blinding! ;)) I thought I'd keep it so when my memory fails.... LOL!

Thanks for the comments :)

I'd give yourself a bit of credit mate tbh, you seen the state of that guys above? Bloody hell...

I like the bright flare entering the frame (even increased a little more perhaps?) but the green and blue shapes would probably have to go.

You should do more!!

and when do you call a woman "mate" :p

Some from a wet morning at Hodge Close Quarry in the lakes. It was an interesting morning despite the weather, although it was good to find out my coat was waterproof, but sealskinz gloves seem to suck up water so much I could wring them out like a cloth.

First up are some of the quarry.

And a try at a panorama. This was 8 images stitched together in Lightroom.

Beautiful image, looks like a painting. I'm with minnnt though and don't think the flare adds anything and in fact distracts. Watermark's distracting too. But the image itself is stunning.

Been asked to take a few pics at pheasant shoot on the 27th December. something different.
At least I can travel light I will only take the 85mm and the 70-200.
