Nikon D750 & D780

AF on the XT2 is close but still think the D750 would shade it, I have been pretty surprised by just how well the Fuji will do in low light, the older Fuji's were awful!
Do miss the sheer scale of PP possibility with the D750 though!

I used to think that with my em10. That thing would focus in a cupboard. Couldn't track for s*** though.

Still can't believe it's in the same ball park for tracking, but as always I'm happy to be proven wrong (y)

It's odd the way Nikon lets you set it for RAW when it does nothing though. I think it's cause if you use capture NX your choice gets carried through the conversion

It's pointless Hugh, well it is if you don't shoot jpegs. Can't believe I thought otherwise, still laughing at myself. That's my senior moment for the year!

It wasn't when I tried one, but these things have firmware updates I think? Plus I found it a bit fiddly for sports!

When did you try an X-T2?

Ages back (scroll through the Fuji post if you would like exact dates), but believe there has been firmware updates since release which improved a number of things.

Edit.... maybe I'm confusing myself, it was more likely the XT1 lol

RGB - catch as much colour info as possible and downsize to sRGB for print and web. All that extra colour space, tonal graduation is worth capturing if you shoot RAW.
Kris if you are shooting raw then colourspace is irrelevant, it only affects the jpeg. Raw has no attached colourspace,

Still XT1/XT2, still wouldnt get one unless it was a 2nd camera - and that won't happen for a while. 70-200 is next up.

Just bear in mind that the 70-200 2.8 lenses are quite heavy compared to what you have perhaps used so far.

I use a OP/tech sling strap and that helps a lot with the weight distribution, but won't lug it around all day.

Yeah i was trying them out in jessops on Saturday. Some weight but its not going to be an everyday lens. Think its going to be the Tamron - was a pretty solid feeling beast and the focus was pretty snappy! They didnt have the Nikon f2.8, only the F4, but think thats out of price range anyway.

Lol. Pretty sure you just moan about every camera. The X-T1 is very capable in the right hands with the right lens. It's a great camera for motorsport so I'm pretty sure it'd keep up with horses. The X-T2 is a nice step up from the 1 so would suit it even more.

New website is *almost* ready to go, just need to do my about me page and pricing page. Have re-processed my portfolio from previous weddings with the same style, a tweaked Portra400 preset.

Looking forward to seeing it finished!

Not really. Everything you have had you always seem to moan about. You said you had prime lenses because others were too heavy, now you want a 70-200. You wanted a D500 because the D750 wasn't suited to shooting ponies when using it with average glass and now the XT1 is crap because you couldn't use it properly.

Perhaps your mate could lend you a 70-200 and then you could sell it for him in a week or so...

Oh, how are you getting on with the 16-80 btw?

@anibap it's definatly the Tamron as sort of got confirmation of the budget - have you tried it on a BR strap or prefer the optech? I imagine something with a decent amount of padding with help with the weight.

Good decision never tried BR, but conceptually they are all same I guess. I personally don't like the idea of a strap connected to the tripod mount. The OP/Tech attaches to the main strap connector on the camera and this allows me to use the tripod mount on a tripod while the strap is still secure. All you need is weight distribution.

Is there a lot of difference between the VR and VR II versions of the Nikkor 70-200 2.8
