Nikon D750 & D780

As mentioned before here recently, the 70-200 f/2.8 VR MkII seems and all round excellent piece of glass, I must start a saving fund.

Check out images from this (amazing) lens;

Me too!

I need to order a 24-70, not sure whether to go with the cheapest company in Ireland off ebay for £940 or go Panamoz for an extra £40 for total piece of mind. Or give it another week to see if a decent used one comes up..

Decent used ones come up for £650-700 on here now and again which is quite a saving. Didn't minnnt pick his up for around £650?

I haven't seen one on here for over a month, typical. eBay ones seems to be going for £720-£850. Have put a wanted post in that section but nothing.

Yep, seems to be luck of the draw I'm afraid and prices can be all over the place :(

My D750 has gone to Nikon for a advisory fix, does anyone know the turn around? I'm preparing myself for 4 weeks.
Mine needs to go in for the second issue. It didn't come up for the flare issue but it did on the second issue. As its currently fine I'm not sure whether to send it in or not. I've not noticed any problems and I'm not sure whether I trust nikon to send it back without any AF issues. I've heard a few mention they have had AF issues since the flare repairs. The focus seems spot on with mine so its whether I risk sending it in or not. From mid-July until early September would be ok for it to be away but I would like it back before the Deer rut starts in Autumn.

been waiting about 5 weeks for my d750 to go back for the shutter advisory.. sadly today the shutter totally failed while shooting my daughters sports day. the bottom of the 3 tabs stripped right of one side:( I had been trying not to use it too.. finally getting the stuff emailed today after calling again. So hopefully they will cover this and not try and fob me off.
That doesn't sound good. Where did you get it from as its possible it could be covered by warranty.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. Mine's had AF issues since going in

What about a UK one as there's currently £150.00 cashback until the end of the month? John Lewis seems to be the cheapest on CPB and they may do the 5 year warranty, you would need to check.?

Was originally from Panamoz but i bought it off here, seller did say they would move the warranty to my name, but still waiting on it, have emailed them anyway to check. I was the same didn't want to send it in after the fiasco with my d800 being returned worse.

If i can't get it replaced i will just chance it sending it in, another 2/3 weeks for repair too they said

Had a wander out last night to a poppy field. Unfortunately it was really hard to get anything and the surroundings didn't offer much in the way of composition and they were so tall which made getting through them a real PITA.

Still, quite liked this shot with the sun lighting the tower. Ironically went out to test the 24 and this was took with the 50. :D

Seems to work well as a B&W too but needs a little more work.

And one from a recent wedding, only just managed to get rid of the smell of the £1.50 fizz from my suit. It was the drivers idea!

Nice shot and great idea. My only slight critique is that the use of the radial filter/brush draws my eye to the lightened part of the bannister rather than the bride, groom, or champagne bottle.

Thanks for your comments, there wasn't any brushes used. It's pretty much SOOC with a slight boost in contrast and a preset added, no further editing. So whatever has caused that, is either natural lighting or due to the spray from the bottle of stuff that tasted like puke.

EDIT: Looking at other pictures, it's the way the light is hitting the bannister or different coloured paint!

Ahh ok, then ignore my comment then ;) :p

Do you use grad filters? I sometimes really struggle not to get a huge blown area (rather than just the circle of the sun like you have here) even with a 3 stop hard grad and underexposing the foreground by a couple of stops.

No, i need to invest in some but i'm way too tight to buy them.

This was 3 stops under and then bummed in PP to make it look this crap.

A nice spectacle to see but I came away with zilch in reality.
Thanks. Wonder why on occasion a 3 stop grad filter's not blocked out enough light for me in the past then

You can see that the shadows have been heavily lifted but I really don't think it's that bad tbh, looks better on flickr than here too.

Good shot, but it is crying for a 6 or 10 stop ND filter. get the Haida one, cheap as chips and works really well.

That reminds me of using my Haida as I have not used it since the shots I took below with the D610 ages ago .

Why would a 10 stopper help with that shot of Minnnts? (unless you mean a grad filter?)

Feel like a stupid now :p. Agree with all of you as the foreground elements are not stationary and a graduated filter would have been perfect. Bad day at work :(
