Im a bit confused . Is it just for the low light and bokeh one would choose the 1.4 over 2.8?

Using primes makes GAS easier to justify to the wife.

Think he needs a 50 ART, a pretty sweet setup would be 24/50/70-200

He could, but if he's out on a windy dusty mountain side swapping lenses might not be the best idea. Plus the primes (at least the 50 and 85) aren't weather sealed
