Nikon D750 & D780

So today all my Nikon friends at work bought lenses in so we could have a Nikon party (productive busy day!!). I got to use the 28-70 f2.8g alongside the 24-85 VR and the 24-120 F4.

It was a real plus being able to try them all out and look at images taken and was quite surprised with some of the results! I must say that it was a real thumbs up to Nikon for producing quality lenses for all budgets and I could really see that each lens had its place for different people.

My bloody dyson hinge thing broke and now it keeps dropping bits when you switch off ,not sucking right, you can lift the bit above the broken bit but its a load of fluffing around, but my new lens money aint going to a new dyson thats for sure.:nikon:

Here's a tech question. With the D600/610, I used to have Auto WB (raw) with the SB700 mounted on top or off camera. The resulting white balance used to be excellent with not much need to change. With the D750, I see that Auto WB produces a much warmer image with SB700. Changing the WB to 'Day light' in post sorts out the issue with a slight hint of magenta which again can be fixed easily.

There is a flash WB option also, but I found it unreliable on the D750.

Just wondering what others are using as WB when used with a Speedlight.
I find auto wb works fine with my SB-700, very natural looking colours. Strangely flash WB looks plain awful.

Thanks chaps ...
Yep sigma 35 arty farty @ 1.4 :D

Photographing toddlers is hard work!!
My 3 year old granddaughter doesn't like my D750, she keeps telling me to stop pointing it at her. She's happy enough posing for mobile phones & compacts though.

I was practicing outside with my little one, and I put her on her little car thing to stop her moving, by the time I retreated to my shooting position she was off it, so I had to rush what I was doing.

Then it started raining and I didn't know what to take in first, little one or camera gear!

No brainer..... camera gear first, small children are waterproof :)

My 2- and 4-year-old nieces are quite happy to be photographed. Sometimes the older one even requests for it, and the younger one seems curious and delighted at the sight of my D750. My only challenge is in the 4-year-old wanting to play with my camera every time I have it out. Problem solved eventually when I gave her my old compact camera to play with.

Current challenge is, every time I take a snap, she comes running with a "I wanna look! I wanna look!". Makes it difficult to try different angles!

I received that 20/2.8 today. Good news and bad. The good news is I like it's size, field of view and it seems sharp enough for my undemanding eyes. The bad news is that it sounds like a bag of spanners when it focuses!

Does it go back? Do I look for a quieter copy? Should I get the bulkier, more expensive, 20/1.8? Decisions, decisions.

Thanks George.

@Ed Sutton My sigma 24 super wide, sounds like you`re describing :) If you aren`t intending to use it in quiet places, I`d say keep it
