Nikon D750 & D780

Am going get a 35mm sigma art that next on my list with w battery grip

This, LV is a real killer. I took maybe 80 shots on one battery whilst in the Lake District...!
I got around 250-300 using LV doing night shots around Sheffield, a number of exposures were 20s+ too.

Anyone know where you can hire the D16 battery grip from? Seen some places that do battery grips but not the D16, and one that does the D16 but only if you hire a camera.

Not been too impressed with the 3rd party ones, and only really need it for a one off event.

There is little to no difference between the real one and the fake I have had both.

Which 3rd party have you got?

I would like to try the Nikon one anyway, and grips aren't expensive to hire for a weekend, cheaper than buying a 3rd party.

So what was your meanin. Here we go again

Have had the Meike it was fine as long as you don't over tighten it and the EX-Pro version which I bought of Minnnt. EX-Pro is closer to the real version.

It was a joke, you need to chill out mate. You won't get very far in this thread if you're so touchy all the time and can't take a joke. You drove everyone mad for about 20 pages, asking what everyone had and what their reasons were. Get the lenses that suit your photography, not what everyone else has. Google is full of tonnes of reviews for every lens ever made. Use it, it's surprisingly good!

Me touchy not a chance. I was only asking a simple question as he said he was looking at a wide lens so was just wondering what he had.

You the one that seem to barge in

Thanks, it was the Meike I wasn't to impressed with. Might see if I can pick up a used Ex-Pro if I can't find somewhere to hire the Nikon :)

Don't think we have much luck finding a used Nikon grip I've been on a look out

Anyone using a 14-24 with their D750? I've taken one decent photo with mine at 14mm since I got it in 2011, and the rest of the time it's mostly been used at 24mm - which is a bit pointless! I was in two minds about this lens or the 17-35 and I think I made the wrong choice (for me). I keep hoping that one day I'll find a real need for it. :$

Same as me Ed. I always hankered after one when I was a canon shooter but the truth is, I just don't really shoot wider than 24mm. I have a few landscape things on the list plus some Milky Way shots I want so can't let it go.

Never tried 14mm, but I do use 18mm a lot, 24's not wide enough for me sometimes. Not sure I'd use 14mm though, but would like to try it sometime.

Better get used to it. With the price of the D750 coming down i can't afford to move to a D810 now so unless you have another hissy fit and move to Sony, again, you're stuck with me. (y)
Won't be moving to Sony just yet. But do fancy the the D5 ;)

I don't do much landscape these days so 20-24 is adequate. But.... It's always handy to have....

My 750 has now been released by customs according to the Tnt website. I presume that is somewhere in the UK. There was no updates since it arrived in Liege on Saturday night until that this morning at 4.30am. Maybe make it to Northern Ireland by tomorrow.

I have used my 18-35 a lot more (which I bought as lightweight option to take fishing). The 18-35 and 70-200 make a combo that covers me for almost everything in terms of focal length. Trouble is sometimes need the 2.8 butI never have the 14-24 with me when I do. Thinking of trading it in for a 20/1.8 for when I need wider than 24 in low light.

Interesting, I only use mine for landscapes so always (barring once) have a tripod if the light falls so never needed a fast wide angle ;)

A lot of my photographs (the serious ones) are indoor, available light, handheld. As you know, I'm not much of a landscape photographer! In part I think that's because it's so flat round here with nothing to make a focal point that my better landscapes have been taken with a longish lens. Use 24mm, let alone14mm, and you get a lot of sky, or a lot of flat earth if you point the lens down. :D
