+1 Colour for me too
1) have you thought about keeping the 24-85 and ditching the rest to go 70-200? You`ll be pretty much covered that route.
2) I tried it with my D700, and they didn`t work well together at all. Also Nikon won`t (or wouldn`t) let focal adjust, you had to do that bit. CS was crap too IMO. Try the dot tune method.
. Sorry what is CS?CS is Customer Support I guess. Not really thought of it that way, will give that some thought. Off to see rookies for some advise. Sorry what is CS?

Yeah, the new D750i - The moment one picks it up, a voice recommends you what lens to buy so that you don't have to ask around in forums![]()

See the 'i' stands for intelligent. It tells you what you need based on who is holding the camera and kind of photography the person is capable to shoot. It will vary from person to person. No more guesswork. Nikon has a winner now.Still no good, as it doesn't tell you why!!
It flashes on the rear screen as wellHe wouldn't be able to hear it?
You need to get the D750i mate. And Nikon is planning to use a switchable sensor 24 MP / 36MP. Don't you dare go to the D810 threadWouldn't flash on my rear screen...![]()

I have the 24-85 VR and the Tamron 70-200 2.8 and as Paul said these two pretty much covers the whole range of my shooting. The 70-200 is quite heavy so I won't be carrying it everywhere.
You may look at it as three options
1. Keep the 24-85 and buy the 70-200 2.8
2. Get a Tamron 24-70 2.8 and a Nikon 70-200 2.8 (not the Tamron as fine tune will be a problem with both Tamrons). Here you gain at least one stop of light or more and some subject isolation and the Tamron 24-70 2.8 will be very handy for street and general shooting. You'd lose the long end on the walkaround as a downside
3. Nikon 24-120 VR and Nikon/Tamron 70-200 2.8. You get more reach with the walkaround
And then you can add one of the 24/35/50 prime.

New U.K price drop to £1250 no point buying these grey any more.

Still £200 in it, wouldn't be so bold in your assertion, that's a lot of money to most people!
I would still buy grey and save £200 towards a lens. bear in mind these days most people upgrade or change camera almost every one or two years and some within days.No point saving £200 then???
It's less than £200 to be pedantic but the grey price is expected to go up again next week if as expected it does you are looking at about a £75-£100 difference if I was looking another one would happily pay £100 more for a U.K version, not even the price of a decent dinner and a few drinks.
That has nothing to do with your original post which said there was no point buying grey any more.
You said nothing about no point buying grey any more if the hypothetical price of grey goods increased by £100. A totally different point!
You seem to be upset by this not sure why bit odd to be honest.![]()
I think a few people and not just me have pointed out that £200 isn't pocket change.
Suppose your patronising manner comes from the same place as your thoughts on money!
