Nikon D750 & D780

Well after a very short period of being D750less I am soon to be back in the game! Who knew selling off a clash of clans village could reap so much money!!
Welcome back. We are a pair lol.

Well least I got a brand spanking new d750 that behaving brilliant and not a recall

Which lens was that what did he have or was interested in

Or taken a interest free credit card and kept the lens like I said.

Already got one lol. And sometimes you don't realise what you are missing... until its gone! Or.... you go to Park Cameras and nothing feels right in the hand!

What lens u got

What did u wanted before selling up?

Before selling up I had the 50 and 24-85VR. I'm in the process of putting funds away each month to save up for a 24-85 replacement. Not sure what though. I do like the 50 a lot as its my favouroite focal length/

Never enjoyed the 35mm focal length but will definatly need another lens by June as I might be doing a wedding for a friend - nothing special, they just want some nice shots. Last wedding I did for friends I used the D610 with Tamron 28-75 and it was all I needed!

This is probably a stupid question, but does lowering the ISO down to 50, have a similar effect to lifting it? I.e. does it add noise?

Ordered from panamoz - what was the lead timefor delivery ? what is your experience with them ?

3-4 days delivery from Panamoz usually.

It's just in camera trickery. It's a lot easier to blow the highlights though.

If there was no internet I bet most of us wouldn't ever know about these recalls - or notice the problems.

Considering there has been no email from Nikon (well I never got one), regarding the issue. Which in its own I think bad form.
I sent a message asking if it was a blanket just to be on the safe side recall, and guess what ... No reply pmsl

Damnit, just checked the second recall and my camera is to be sent away :(

Pain in the a**e this Nikon nonsense, first it was my D600 several times and now this one .
According to Nikon my camera is affected too by this recall.
Apparently It's to do with flash HSS @1/4000. I don't use HSS but I have tried to recreate it with a SB700 at all speeds and apertures but cannot.
I won't be sending my camera in for a repair of something I don't use and unlikely to use in the future.
I think it's just a blanket recall to be on the safe side.
I don't plan on selling my D750 so resale values don't concern me either.

I think it is better to hold back if one is not noticing the issues and then send it later before selling as there is no deadline for the fix.

Not tried it on the D750 but on other cameras I've used going a stop below base ISO does add a little noise but no more than going a stop over - so like shooting at ISO200 which is basically no noise at all :)

Anyone got the Sigma 24mm 1.4 ART? Any good paired with the D750?

This whole album on Flickr is with this lens on a D750 (all through Lee Filters though - an experimental day)

Then there is this on a D800 at f2.8 - I think it show its supreme quality in sympathetically handling low light. (I just hate the lottery that is Sigma QC )

Yeah, I reckon I shall side with you on this one . The 600 it was a pain with the oil issue but this hasn't bothered me at all so I shall probably ignore it too

Mine was one of the ones in the first recall, I also tried to recreate it but couldn't either.

I believe DR is reduced too, which'd explain why it's easier to clip the highlights.

I'm not match for you lot when it comes to landscapes. :(

But I do like the 24-85. :)

As long as you enjoy it that's all that matters (y) Plenty of tips on t'interweb for landscape advice, or on here if you want it?

That's the way I look at it. :)
Best way IMO. I got so completely lost on technicalities for a while that the fun went, but now learning to appreciate a pic for what it is. Still get caught up on the technicalities sometimes but am getting better ;)

I don't worry about technicalities. I was shooting in full Auto for a while this morning. :exit::D
