Nikon D750 & D780

Once on the first. Never on the second. I won't bother sending it in this time. Mainly due to the state the first came back in. And that's direct from NPS.
What state was that? I sent mine in for the flare issue (although never saw it myself) and was more than happy with the service from Nikon tbh, but it's disappointing to hear a couple of members have not been happy. I've never seen the shading issue on mine so it's not something I'm in a rush to get sorted.

See above. Half the packaging was missing and the main hand grip wasn't glued on (it was hanging off)

Not good :( I'd have deffo made Nikon sort it if it was me.

Dont you take photos of your gear before sending it off for valuations / repairs?
Dunno if you're asking me, but I always do since getting my EM10 back damaged.

A lot of people are saying there is also another problem with the camera displaying an ERR code and locking up when shooting at 1/4000. Apparently Nikon are aware of this.

Mine doesn't have this problem.... it's never had a problem.
Although going by my serial number it was recalled for the first time as it was supposedly affected by the flare issue, and I sent it back for that to be sorted(not that I'd had a flare issue problem). I'm happy with the service I've had, it came back fine(and I did take photos of the camera before I sent it away). I would definitely buy another D750 again. It does everything I want it to.
Must be a bummer for those that have to keep sending theirs back though.

I'm sure @twist was looking for a Fuji X-T1 the other day.

Was the A6000 just too good a price to resist?

Yes mate, I took a long hard look at all the systems again and paying as much for a second system camera as my main system doesnt sit very well with me, especially as I dupe FLs. Ive owned the A6k before and was very impressed by it so I thought why not. Price vs performance is excellent.

How much did that cost as that might be a good travel for me?? Or I though about the Canon GX7

Used with pancake powerzoom they are about 350-375 from a dealer with warranty. Body only probs up to 300-320.

Sony do seem to be keen on their pricing, especially with it being replaced by the A6300.

For me, I've realised that a smaller secondary system didn't work for me as taking a CSC out is 90% of the faff of taking the DSLR, minus the equivalent of a bottle of water's weight. It's either an iPhone day or a proper camera day!

New price has been good for a while now, long before any A6300 announcement. I think CSC with a 1.8 prime is still way less hassle than a DSLR with a 1.4 prime like my ARTS, its a significant size and weight saving. Phone doesnt cut it for me. To much DOF, poor ISO, poor AF.

I've not sent my d750 back and won't until I see something wrong with it myself. However I do think Nikon are feeling the heat at the moment. Only the other day they sent me a free USB stick with a letter thanking me for my custom. They wouldn't have done that if all was rosy.

Definitely true, but not enough reduction in hassle for my liking to justify buying a second system. You got a 50mm 1.8G recently too, which could help lose some weight from the D750.

I'm certainly not trying to have a go at you or anyone else who holds a differing opinion to me either, just I personally found that a smaller system was not leading to me taking my camera out more often :)

These Art lens look so nice I must get one but which I don't know.

Sure, but as you can see the D750 body alone is bigger than the A6k and 35 1.8 OSS (600g) weight wise D750 (850g body, over 1kg with 50g / 1.7kg with ART). I know mate, I dont get in a huff, whatever works for you.

All of them then lol. 35mm for walk about 50mm portrait or the 85 if one

Understand it is all about personal preferences, The D750 and 24-85 VR works a treat for me while travelling and can carry it all day. It is not that bulky at all and balances well.

Having said that a lightweight camera and lens combination have its own advantages. To me, the versatility of a lens is more important for what I shoot while travelling without having to change lenses. I wish Nikon/Tamron/Sigma comes with a stabilised under £500 18-35 or a 18-50 someday

I'm coming to a similar conclusion which is why I'm looking at replacing my Olly system with a high end compact, and a 24-120mm f4 for my D750 ;)

I never said it wasnt about personal preference. I like having 2 camera systems, it offers more choice on the day or I can leave it on my desk for a quick snap etc. Its not as if there arent high quality zooms for CSCs either. I can see why people like zooms, Im just not into them.

D750 + 50mm was light enough for me. With a sling the size and weight really doesnt become an issue. Actually, even with the 24-85 attached I never really found it an issue.

I tried a shed load smaller cameras from Fuji/Sony/Olympus etc at the weekend and they all just felt uncomfortable and a bit awkward.

I read somewhere in reviews of CSC's that big is not always better, but surely this works both ways.

Didnt you want a 24-70 then 70-200 and then a 150-600? You need to buy something or you'll never actually take any photos.

Well the 70-200 is the next purchase waiting for the spring Nikon cash back to start which is not too far away and £150 off not as much as last year.

The 150-600 was a GAS so over that at the moment

My 24-85 is behaving lovely so that my walk about lens so not bothered about the 24-70 now

Out of all the ARTs I love my 35 the most, but at the same time I also love the 50... just a fraction less. I used to be a 50mm guy but am trying to vary my shooting style a bit and include environments a bit more and Im enjoying it. These 2 FLs are the most important to me.

I just couldnt get used to 35mm. I wanted to love it, everyone said I would love it... but I didnt love it!
