Seen a tamron 150-600 for £550 it mint condition used of course with 12 month warranty
Strange that, saw one in Harrison's today and bought it as a back up for mineSeen a tamron 150-600 for £550 it mint condition used of course with 12 month warranty
LoL yes it a good price but how does it perform. I know it be no where near the 70-200 2,8
That's is huge lol and that with barrel in
70-200mm clearly better, but the Tamron is really good and at £550 is a bargain (assuming it's mint as listed), lot of lens for the money. Might even get a bit more knocked off if you ask nicelyYup I know. Just thinking will it be nice to have for those zoo days or what ever. Bet it looks huge on the d750.
Does barrel extend?

Yeah, the size makes up for my other inadequacies

Your joking right that really the lend extended s*** man
You want a 'zoo' lens. Be prepared to carry it.
Guess I asked for that LOL.. really the 70-200 would be a great lens I would use it for a lot of things like portraits and the like.. Maybe get a TC for it for the extra reach when needed..
But that tamron is tempting cos the price is good. But would I want to carry that around the zoo arm not too sure now I have seen how large it is when extended hmmm
Thanks twist I guess you right I think it more of a GAS since it cheap but then if I don't like it I would like to get back what i paid really.. I guess it more for the bird watchers the ones that flies in the air lol....If you stick a 1.4x on the 70-200 youre still under 300mm. Long FF zoom = big
If 300mm is long enough just buy a Nikon 70-300 VR and crop a bit. I personally wouldnt waste £550 on a lens Id use going to the zoo once or twice a year, unless you work there!

I could stick a 2.0x on the 70-200 but i believe it not very good and the 1.4 is the best out of the bunch..
I have always wanted the 70-200 and i will get one when i see one. would you suggest me to get a 70-300 just for the outings
If youre getting the 70-200 2.8 and 1.4x anytime soon then no, otherwise for day trips its a decent smaller/light zoom IF 300mm + a crop is good enough for you. Im guessing you could crop up to 375-400mm in good conditions.
Anyone any hand on experience with this 70-300 then please as if i can get that cheap i be happy along with the 70-200 2.8 still torn between tamron and nikon for that
Yes, I started out with the 70-300mm, it is good but still lacks reach for wildlife parks. At YWP it was fine for the Lemurs, squirrel monkeys etc, but for the Tigers (even if they came close to the boardwalk), Lions, Polar Bears etc I had to crop heavily and even then I wasn't as close as I'd like. I haven't been to the YWP since getting the Tamron but for Chestnut Owl and Otter Sanctuary and the Tropical Butterfly and Wildlife Centre the extra reach of the Tammy was a godsend. Also, certain parts of the park at Howletts and Port Lympne I really needed the reach of the Tammy. I'll post examples later when I'm back on the computer.Anyone any hand on experience with this 70-300 then please as if i can get that cheap i be happy along with the 70-200 2.8 still torn between tamron and nikon for that
I was disappointed with the 2xTC III when I tried it tbh.I took a sigma 70-200 F2.8 and 2x TC when I went on Safari, you lose a bit of IQ with the 2x, but the images are good enough for me.
That be great pls... It prob got sold time we decided lolYes, I started out with the 70-300mm, it is good but still lacks reach for wildlife parks.
