Nikon D750 & D780

Anibap, thanks for your recommendation of the 24-85vr, I picked up a used one and it rocks [emoji106][emoji106] A bargain. I can't make it sing like you can yet, but for a first outing I really like it.

Lovely image Gregg. Glad to see someone found some value in my recommendation for such an underrated 'Kit' lens. Have fun with it.

Just a note on the card issue that causes the camera to lock up or give an err code. When I got our first D750 we had this same issue. After doing a bit of reading up on it I can across a post on Facebook saying that the problem wasn't just with Sandisk cards it's to do with card formatting. It was suggested to not use cards that have been formatted in another camera at any point or in any other devices. We got some new cards and never had the issue again. There was a very complicated answer as to why this happens but I can't remember it. But in basic terms only use new cards in your d750 and don't use them in other cameras and you won't run into this problem. Only ever format in camera if you format on a pc you will also get problems it's something to do with the way a D750 reads and writes to the card tables.
Maybe why I've not had any lok ups since buying the new cards. My phenomena last week wasn't the normal lock up. I'm pretty sure it's going to turn out to be my remote shutter as the AF square was lit green too.

I was gonna comment on your pics Gregg, but remembered that you had banished me from the D800 thread.

I thought they were brilliant personally. Oh well, your loss...

Minnt who????

Cheers bud [emoji38]

"Cracking" shot Gregg.(y)

"Those 24-85vr lenses are excellent. I've had mine for quite a while and have always been very pleased with the optical performance from it".

George.

Must admit, all these shots with the 24-85mm are making me think twice about the 24-120mm

Yes I know someone with that lens he loves it. Bargain too £299 he got it for will ask where from.

It the lens I would of got if I stayed put. Tried a D750 today while at calumet and that one was different from mine

In what way?

In quite a few ways tbh. The images was rendering better. The sharpness was better the focus was much better first shot of Mrs eye was bang on.

This makes me think my d750 was a duff that why never clicked

The Sigma is £480 new though and reviews put it ahead of the Nikon version... The Nikon in the classifieds is very well priced though in comparison to what they go for on used sites.

Been thinking about a fast 24mm. I generally don't use the FL much but I feel I should explore it more. The sigma looks the cost effective option but I have had my fingers burnt a little too much in the past with their QC, but they seem to have improved it with the Art series. Maybe it's an itch I don't need to scratch, but would be handy for a wedding at the end of the year...

Note that the above price is Panamoz which although I have used, would be a faff with QC issues though. £599 seems to be best UK price.

Well I've got the Nikon 24-120mm f4 and the Sigma 100-300mm f4, at some point I'd like to add in an ultra wide angle, seen the Sigma 12-24mm work on the full frames but have no idea on the Nikon offerings, wouldn't want anything to expensive as rare I'd use it, just nice to have it there for when I do. Plus a nice prime for the real low light situations somewhere in the 50mm - 100mm range, f1.8 is sufficent as the Canon 85mm f1.8 was always my favourite lens.

The 85 f1.8G is a lovely lens. As for UWA it really does depend on budget.

Nah staying with my Sony. Love it. Maybe one day I get a d750 for big stuff and keep Sony for travel. But so far I never been this happy before

Great shot Gregg, and some crackers on your Flickr.... I do miss the sheer IQ of my D800!!

Then sell em and buy a D750. We all know this is @twist second account.

In his dreams, besides you've probably bought and sold more lenses for your d750 than I have. I've been good and owned a d750 sInce launch except for a week or so. :p

This has took some frigging around with, still not quite happy.

I liked the simplicity if this shot. The 'crack' leading upto the tree couldn't have been more precisely placed. Shame about the hedge to the left hand side.

This is nice mate. I`m sure that hedge/ tree line can be cloned out if you don't like it.

Panamoz have been in touch and have told me to contact Nikon UK for a quote. Can't really be without a camera for the next few weeks as it's my daughters birthday so i'll have to wait until March to send it.

On the d750 I've only had about 7 or 8 I guess. Won't start getting into all the other systems
