Nikon D750 & D780

This may sound like a stupid question but how did you get the multiple shots did you have to keep firing the shutter?

If you are considering the 16-35, take a look at the Tsmron 15-30 2.8. Optically much better lens as per reviews. If you don't need bulk, the 18-35 g should di fine for landscape

Tamron doesnt except normal filters otherwise it'd be on my list along with the very affordable Tokina 16-28 from DR for £399.

Already had the 18-35. It's a very good optic and weighs b****r all.

Tempted just to buy the Samyang 14mm but again, doesn't accept normal filters so you need to start carrying window sized square filters around with you if you want a 10 stopper etc.

How's the Tokina?

You and me both it would seem :D

Wash your mouths out, the pair of you!

How's the Tokina?

Matt Granger (That Nikon Guy) rates it very highly. Especially when compared with the 14-24. I suppose it would make sense and i could probably keep my 24-70 aswell that way. And it would be new and it gives the missus something to buy me with regards to the filters for it.

Decisions decisions...

What lightweight prime would people suggest to go for to compliment the 85 for landscapes? Preferably £300 or less.

@minnnt I feel your pain on the 58mm.... I've fancied one for a long time as I really like the 50mm view and that 58mm just sings!... I can see an expensive order being made soon...
I still miss my Nikon 58/1.4. Seriously thinking about switching back from Sony just so I can use it. It was pretty much the only lens I used with the D610 and D800 and I loved the way that even with me behind the camera the images were sometimes magical.

First night I could pop out for 30mins and try out the Samyang! Not the best of shots but gave it a bash, exposure was 10secs at f2.8 ISO 800, all sat on a gorilla pod thingy

@Snooky how are you finding it? Do you have a 24mm lens? Would be interested to see the difference in FOV from the two.

Thanks.

I dont have a 24mm prime but own the 24-85mm! Slowly getting used to the lens, very weighty for what it is i think! I've even used it for moving subjects to see what the "stretch" look would look like!!

Cheers buddy. If you get chance I'd appreciate a shot of the same scene with both lenses. Interested to see how much extra the 14mm would offer me.

Do you find the Samyang good quality?

Ta.

Anyone tried out the new 24mm 1.8G on the D750? Just read a bit about it and it's apparently sharper than the 1.4 (and much cheaper!).

Polarstar or smp ? I've been to scared to take my kit to my local cqb site. Where is this?

I believe it's a polar star mate!! Not 100%!

Strike force Gloucester buddy! Old match stick factory now with 200+ rooms and semi open spaces!!!

A cokin UV filter I had tested with a gun running 320fps shot it point blank and bounced off!!!

Snook snaps ( that's me haha ) on Facebook has game day shots from April when they opened [emoji106]

The closet to me runs 370 :0 and is very close up. Scout the doggy does video there but did see him get the rear screen shot out last time

I watch a lot of the videos!! Is bit scary walking about with my d750 but have had a few near misses and filter hits but all's ok! Got high vis jacket on and try make sure they acknowledge me before i lift camera or I get shot haha with them thinking I'm shooting at them with a gun!

I am actually interested in this lens as a landscape and then wide angle for weddings.

I usually shoot 35/85 but 35 is sometime not wide enough and 85 a bit tight, especially if indoors.

I am thinking a 24/58 combo with a 70-200 either F2.8 or even F4 in my bag just incase, for when I really need length. Would be interested in any thought son the 24. Couldn't find much in the way of flickr groups to look through sample? Anyone seen anything?

Maybe a tiny bit off topic but I was looking into those cool star trail videos and how they are done. Turns out, it's easier than I first thought...
