Nikon D750 & D780

Yes, the Siggy is nice. Looks smart too.

In the mean time i have bought a Vivitar 19-35 lens from eBay for £70. Should add a nice amount of width for the time being until i decide on which UWA lens to go for.

FINALLY got my camera back. I've not had a chance to test it out but apparently it did need an AF fix in the end. Hopefully this is the end of my probs.

While i'm here. Here's some pics from a recent wedding we shot in Dubrovnik. All D750.

It's mainly for landscapes and general use (portraits maybe) but wildlife could be possible too as getting close can be possible in the right places (Puffins on Skomer actually stand on you if you are not careful!).

I had just had the camera delivered and was fitting the screen protector and heard the call of a Buzzard so stuck my head out of the kitchen door and managed to grab a few shots with the 24-120mm lens fitted.

Pics are bit meh on here, click through to Flickr as they seem better.

mirror on a table, with the picture upside down?

guess i will have to live with the iso in manual will switch to white on black and see if it helps
Do you not like auto ISO?

I do use it but It doesnt always give the desired results. say like if say I want the image dark but need more than 100 iso and a fast enough ss to not get blur. Auto will just up the iso as high as possible to make it look bright or with astro type work. This is where the issue lies as its generally dark and the brightness messes up my vision.

Yep there are times when you want to use a set ISO. For your example though I just use exp comp.

That's a shame mate.

Buy the Nik. ;)

Watch the halo's in #2 around the ground and sea.

Yeah I didn't really know what I was doing in lightroom lol! I just need to get some more practice in.

Stick with it mate. Plenty of vids on YT explaining what everything does.

Yeah, once I started using it I was getting used to the layout! Will be taking tripod with me next time... 7 shots handheld is not ideal! Plus I really wanted the sun to be lower and the sky more red, but next time!

Seems like a few people in the dp forums have emailed nikon for a firmware fix. Hopefully enough do it for then to take notice.
In relation to what, the lock ups?

Which bit of this is D750 and which is photoshop then?

The model is 750 with siggy 35mm, the rest is ps

You have wayyyyyyyyy too much time on your hands Paul.

Can't fault your PS work though.

Cheers mate.
Haha wife is away this weekend, and I was having one of those "want to shoot something, but don`t know what to shoot" moments. Then I watched the Gerry Anderson thing and got inspired :)

I know that only too well (see avatar pic) ;) I wasn`t even in the mood for a selfie ... Thanks Shaheed.

I'm still having a problem with my Sigma 150 OS - does anyone know if there is any indication either in the View Finder or the rear LCD info whether the OS (or VR Nikon equiv) is on or off at the time of shooting? I have always had OS on with this lens but often Viewnx2 sometimes says on , other times off !! Doesn't do this with eith Nikn or Tamron lenses.

edit - tried cleaning the contacts and switching on and off a few times.

Can't say I have noticed a problem with mine, although only about six weeks old. I have mine set to Full, AF and 1 on the OS switch. Not sure if theres anything in camera to say if OS is used. Are the photos coming out okay? and it's not the software on computer reporting duff info?

Edit: Just noticed you have the 150mm, I was refering to my 105mm lens.

I use viewnx2 to view the exif info but acdc for pp - no reason to think the Nikon software is faulty - pictures come out ok - although I have the os turned on the shutter speed I use doesn't really require it. The real problem is the af fine tune which is also eratic.

So, I'm looking to add a portrait lens in a couple of weeks. Considering the Nikon 85mm f1.8 or the Sigma 105mm f2.8 OS. I've had the 85 before (twice!) but never the Sigma.

Any thoughts?

Faster aperture and focusing vs macro and stabilisation

I love the 85mm 1.8. Never owned the siggy.
