Nikon D750 & D780

Lens dilemma!!!

Nikon 35mm f1.8 ED or wait too see what the Tamron 35mm has to offer. I had the 35mm Nikon briefly but stupidly sold it and regretted it, but don't want to order another if the Tamron is as good or better. First impressions online look pretty damn good and close focussing distance is great. But still... the Nikon IQ is pretty good.

What about a Sigma 35 1.4? They're stunning lenses.

Currently out of my price range and looking for something smaller and lighter. If the Tamron can keep up with the Sigma its a no brainer if 1.4 not required?

I am still amazed at how sharp the Nikon 35mm fx is, I absolutely love mine, in theory I keep wanting the 1.4 so i have a 1.4 35 and 85 but when I use the 1.8 I just love it.

Yep, the 35 is incredibly sharp. Maybe i need a Siggy 35?! :D

Had a quick trip up Curbar Edge last night. The sunset looked promising. Until i got there... Cloud cover came in pretty quick and the light was really poor. Snapped a few shots but I never really found my rhythm.

I don't think the Sigma would be any better than the nikkor for stuff like this. Wide open is where it's great.

Great shots with the 35!

I save been asked to do a last minute.com church ceremony today. Only as a friend of a friend thing. They just wanted some family shots.

I'm so not prepared and don't have the lenses really, but its a no pressure situation so hopefully be ok.

Managed to borrow my mates Nikon 35mm FX and I have my 50mm. Just got to work with what I got!

3 hours notice = not enough time!

I'm barely used to the D750 so this should be an interesting one!

Just to clarify the above pics are with the 24-70. I sold the 35 1.8.

You'll be fine. Just shoot the 35 all day. :D

Then come home and buy one. ;)

David some great shots here,Iam now using the Nikon 24-70 2.8 on the D810 it is a superb lens.

Thanks Adrian. I really enjoy the 24-70, Keep thinking that i fancy a wider angle lens, but for what i do i think stitching two shots together would suffice. Wondering if i would see any benefit from the D810 myself tbh... It's a fair chunk more though.

Iam always on the look out for something new but Iam ver happy with what Iam seeing from the D810 at the moment. I prefer the larger body to the D750 for myself and the extra mega pixels do come in handy at times. I mainly really take landscape pictures or nature scenes so it suits me perfectly.it is however a fairly heavy unit with the 24-70 and no battery grip.

I have both a D750 and D810 there isn't really much different in size or weight in real terms and you don't really notice it when switching between them (even with battery grips which I have on both) I may a 35mm or 85mm on them or even the 24 -70mm or the 14-24mm depending on what in doing. Of course it's not as light as your old X-T1 but decent straps make it carrying this lot perfectly comfortable all day.

Been having a little practise with my recently purchased Sigma 105 Macro lens, not easy rocking back and for, nearly went too far twice and flat on my face.:D

The Strawberry Flower is smaller than a penny I would say, amazed ot some of the detail these Macro lenses pick-up!

Tim now there is a thought but no my wife is a keeper... I have found some insulation tape in the toolbox I may be back in business.

Well that was an interesting day. Got sent to wrong church and when I finally got there is was chaos!!

I don't think I did great, but hopefully got some OK shots.

Luckily it wasn't for any money and was just a casual thing. Practice is needed.

Oh dear that is not good,I have taken pictures of the wrong guests before at a local wedding.Only did it for about ten minutes until I saw the groom.

Had no flash, so had to make use of the church light. Think the 35mm handled it quite well.

This was jpeg from the camera - I have all the raw files too.

Actual lols.

JJ, I'm sure they'll be over the moon with what you have done.

I don't think they would have minded how bad they were, they just wanted photos to send back to South Africa! Still, I did my best with limited time and knowledge of the camera! Its questioned my need for the Tamron 35mm VC as I'm not convinced it would have done any better.

Never really used 35mm focal length - was actually pretty enjoyable! Won't share anymore from this shoot as was not that exciting!
