Nikon D750 & D780

Excellent I was thinking about some sort of backup to just the strap alone, I doubt I'd leave it loose but I think it'll be worth the hassle. How did you tether yours?
 
Well John, there's a few ways. I was using a Joby hand tether (BR do one too). That's good if anyone tried to steal your stuff or you are in crowds (I was in Disneyland) and you think someone will knock into you.

The other way I like is with two Op/Tech Uni Loops. Tie one to the camera and one to the D ring of the BR. When you are out and about its just a quick click/unclick and you are good to go. That's what I'm going for when I'm walking in the countryside. In a city I think I'll stick with the hand tether.

Even with the all the above I still cup the camera in my hand when walking as I just find it more comfortable.

@minnnt I was tempted by that same 35 but settled for the 35 F2 whilst I save for the 1.4 Sigma. Great shot. The bokeh for 1.8 seems decent and ISO 3200 is just ridiculous :)

The 85 will just melt you away....

What focus setting did you use? I am still experimenting and liking 9 point AF-C but always tinkering as my toddler is so active.

For some reason the Siggy's don't seem to interest me which is weird as i had their quite frankly awesome 18-35 on my D7100. I just find the focus on Nikon lenses to be a little quicker and more reliable. (waits to be shot down in flames. :D ) I had the 85mm on a D7k before. I was looking through a few pics in my Lr collections the other day and that is what made me decide to get it again. Can't wait to give them a proper workout.

Although i have a day planned on Saturday to shoot around Media City so the portraits will have to wait a while i guess.

And yes, iso 3200 is quite simply brilliant.
 
Really nice pic David - if I hadn't just got a 70-300 (real old Sigma cheapie one) I could have gone for the 35mm after seeing that :)

BTW my cameras take a short holiday in Dubai, the bleeding things been more exotic places than me!

Thanks btw. Will give it a proper test soon once the missus has stopped making me go all over the place to buy crap furniture off of Gumtree so she can paint it up. It's like a bloody charity shop in out house atm. :LOL:

That's the problem when you drop a shed load of cash on photographic equipment, the OH has to resort to extreme measures - out of date food, used clothes, taking in washing etc [emoji4]

Our wives lead similar lives. Does yours buy loads of kids' garden toys as well? My garden is ruined by weird crop circles produced by £5 paddling pools / slides / cars / generic animal shaped crap lol
 
We have a shed full... Now they're on 'oliday I'm expecting to come home from work one day and the back garden be littered with it all. Meh.

This seems to be an impressive camera. The IQ is superb.

Just had 10 minutes in the garden with the daughter and a triflector.

Well got mine this evening (sorry @JohnN) loving it so far, only just had a play with settings etc but it sure puts the x-t1 to shame (a camera I loved). Can't wait to get out with it!

Seriously though really looking forward to seeing what it can do - mines still supposed to be here tomorrow, if UPS hadn't messed up the pick up I'd have been playing by now too.
 
Lol, I've not defected yet (well from Olympus anyway), I've still got it all, granted I probably won't for long, but not yet ;)
 
My notifications went odd earlier and I missed a few comments, I'm very happy to say our cheap crap garden collective seems to have subsided and on the whole found their rightful place at the tip, I wish I could say the same about flipping hama beads!
 
Thanks for the advice @Traubrey - I just ordered the Joby Camera Tether (link), the black rapid one did look better but at £22 I think they're extracting the Mick.

Getting closer - its in Denmark, impressively in 5 minutes from now.

Haha on Flick/lr on my laptop I can see it fine, on my phone I can't see a thing.
 
In fairness you can see them a lot better directly on flickr - perhaps a test of the legendary dynamic range :)

I guess I just need to sort my screen out. There is a lot more to these pics on my laptop lol.

Shouldn't be able to see a hand, it stands up by itself..
 
Although these are the only pics where people have seen a huge difference to what I have seen in the past, maybe I have adjusted brightness etc since then
