Nikon D750 & D780

Me too I've looked at those a few times but could never find a UK supplier

Is it just the first few batches that are affected by the second recall or could I be buying a new camera from Panamoz that may be affected?
I am planing on buying this week but will hold off if its likely I could be buying an affected D750

Panamoz removed older batches from their stocklist, they restocked in early 2015 and arent effected by either recall. Im pretty confident youll be safe.

I've just bought 2 from panamoz last week (one with the 24-120 and one body only) and neither are affected by either flare or shutter issues (thankfully!)

It depends when they got the stock in. My second hand d750 was purchased new by the first owner from Wilkinson Cameras in May 2015 and it's not affected by either issue. I would guess nikon have already fixed the issues in the newly manufactured cameras.

I've emailed them to ask if they have a uk supplier or how to purchase in the UK.
No uk suppliers he says he,s looking and hoping to get one soon, it cost me £17 post office handling and duty.

Forgot to mention those Colonials get free postage as well on the fusion there's no justice :( ;)

I'm guessing that works out at roughly £60 in all then. I like the idea as currently there is very limited choices for a sling strap and arca Swiss plates.

Thanks for the update. I think I'll order one. To my knowledge there is nothing out there that compares with the video demonstration ( I've been looking) . It looks very slick operation,?

Sorry for the confusion here I was replying to Hoof who said £17 post office handling and duty cost, I added that on to roughly the cost of plate in dollars to pounds conversion, there would be postage too. I've not heard back from fusion plates so the £60 is very much guess work unless Hoof can confirm the exact cost.

It does look very good and useful.

Many thanks for that much appreciated, What was the delivery time by the way ?
It would have been a week but my sorting office lost it in the office and I had been away but I had tracking and it told me it was there had number it took a while but they found it

I've been looking at straps lately and the optech ones attach by the lugs rather than the bottom. They're modular as well which seems to make them quite versatile. I might be grabbing one or two this week. I'll let you know how I find them if I do!
I bought one of these in an emergency (assuming we're talking the op tech sling strap) and quite frankly it drives me up the wall. Because of the design there's a 'bridge' of strap between the two clips and every time you lift the camera up to your eye the 'bridge' gets in the way of the viewfinder and/or controls.

Hmm. I don't like the sound of that. Argh straps are a total pain. I have a wedding to do on Saturday so I need to make a choice quickly. I might just end up using the standard straps at this rate!

@minnnt the Peak Design Leash looks very interesting. I like the quick release for the straps and the fact it can also act as a stabiliser for video. There were a few people worrying about the anchor links giving way but I doubt they'd release something that could damage expensive gear without proper testing.

@snerkler thanks for pointing out the Black Rapid FastenR-T1. I use this plate and adapter. Would the Black Rapid FastenR-T1 be ok for this if I wanted to get a BlackRapid strap?

I think I will keep my options to the above 2 and Optech. Which one I am not sure about!

Ive read about the leash anchors failing after a few months, doesnt surprise me. Id use it for a CSC but not heavy gear.

So I sent my 750 in for repair (received 23/6) and following calls last week, and apparently being prioritised for end of last week, just been told more like next week. I'm away and desperately wanted it back for then, not happy. They are inundated at the moment, literally! Well done Nikon.

Seriously considering buying a second hand 7100 or similar for my holiday next week to sell back on when I get back. Really could do with a second body.

I contacted Tina at Panamoz who has confirmed that their stock is unaffected by either recall issue and says she will also check the serial number to be doubly sure.
So the deed is now done and I am awaiting my new toy but I must admit its a little nerve racking doing a direct bank transfer for so much money into an unknown persons account.
Ill be much happier when I have confirmation that they have received it.
Getting excited all the same though.

You have absolutely nothing to worry about regarding Panamoz. I've bank transfered to them several times and they are literally faultless. They're one of the best companies I've ever dealt with and a lot of UK based companies could learn a thing or two from them.

I wouldn't like to say tbh. The dimensions of the screw and thread are on the t'interweb somewhere.

What I've ended up doing is ordering an Optech double sling and two Black Rapid fasteners. I'm hoping this will give the best of both worlds but for half the price of a Black Rapid.

Hmm! Mine's at Nikon too - received 2 July.

Before I sent it, I had asked them how long it was currently taking to do the necessary checks/work because I would need it back for the end of July. Nikon's reply ( on 29 June) was that 'the service takes around 10 working days'.

The status is still: 'Your equipment is awaiting repair', but it's only 7 working days so far!

They quoted two weeks initially to me Peter too. I have chased on numerous occasions now and keep getting different dates so could be anytime, literally. Mine was apparently prioritised last week and yesterday told no such thing.

Update: Called today to press a bit more and whilst on the phone it literally flagged up as completed. £271 in the end for a new lens mount and an hour of labour. Should receive tomorrow in time for my holiday so fingers crossed all ok.

Thanks Kris. I'll follow mine up with them at the end of the week.

I haven't had any work done by Nikon UK before (I've had non warranty work done at Fixation - who were very good), but I'm disappointed with what you've been told. I'd rather hear it like it is, rather being told something apparently just intended to pacify.

Just seen your new post - better news! Hope you do get it back in time!

I think they don't update the details always. I checked when I sent in my J2 lens, it showed still waiting on their website, but the emailed me that same day to say it had been repaired and on its way. Always check your inbox, I would say. They are having a lot of recalls of stuff at the moment.

Following on from my discussions (a few pages back) about selling my old D750 and re-buying with the 24-120 f4 lens has been done. Ordered Monday morning and the man from UPS was knocking on my door @ 10.30 am this morning with the kit....... 48hrs or so, from order to delivery is an excellent service again by Panamoz....... Hopefully Chris @c22w1 will have his delivered today to put his mind at rest(y). ...Also checked serials and this camera isn't affected by latest re-calls..

Had a spare battery here so run a few shots of with the lens, although a bit heavy I will see how I get on, but initial thoughts I will be able to manage the weight. I need to have a Ulnar Nerve Decompression on my elbow as an urgent case and they are going to investigate the numbness I have in my shoulder, so hopefully I will see an improvement in my arm and hands.

Just hope the weathers nice over the weekend as Clare can take me out to try some land/seascape photos.

Shot 90% of last weeks wedding with the D750 + 58mm combo, more I use that lens the more I love it! Will post some pics when I'm at my pc.

That's just happened to me! Awaiting repair yesterday evening and dispatched this morning. Three parts fitted for the flare recall (including a 'front body unit') and the body focus checked/adjusted (at my request).
Looking forward to having it back!

Thanks for the update, I wouldn't say that I am worried, there are too many people on here that have had good experiences with Panamoz for that, but doing a bank transfer for £1350.00 into any strangers account is something I don't do every day.
Any way going on what usually happens to me, if something can go wrong it invariably will in my case. I ordered just a few hours later than you but my camera, for whatever reason, has only been dispatched today and is still in Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong according to the tracking info.
Going by that it looks like it maybe delivered on Friday. As I am having this delivered to my works address (no-one is in at home through the week) and I finish early on Fridays at 1pm. Whats the betting it will be delivered at 1.30pm and I will have to wait all weekend until I can get my hands on it, it will be torture.

Whatever you do, don't forget to save your user presets before sending off. When mine came back from the recall nothing has changed so I didn't bother this time. Having to reset all of my micro AF adjustments again aargh.
