I too would like a 135 but not keen on the dated Nikon, have read too many issues with chromatic aberations so fingers crossed it gets updated soon.
Use the 105dc with my new d750. There is or was more CA on the d700. Think I'm seeing less if any on the d750. Will take a look tomorrow.I too would like a 135 but not keen on the dated Nikon, have read too many issues with chromatic aberations so fingers crossed it gets updated soon.
Who mentioned a conspiracy? I just pointed out that after the D600 saga Nikon don't need more bad publicity. No conspiracy just negative public perception.Nikon will have advised Amazon about the issue and probably told them to return all their existing stock (which could be impacted) for replacement stock.
Amazon will have then taken the D750 off sale because they won't yet have the new stock in a position to sell.
It doesn't always have to be a conspiracy, you know.
Just spoke to Nikon UK Main manager re my D750 which went in on Dec 07 for what i thought was an unrelated issue where my images were washed out on the left side but didnt have the harsh "internal reflection" issue, Nikon conformed this over Xmas and were investigating further, phoned today and IT IS confirmed as "internal reflection" issue, even though i had not seen the harsh line across the top of any of my images it was causing my issue, they fitted a temp repair in place and tested and the issue was 100% gone, Nikon are waiting for some replacement "modules" coming early next week and mine is among the first 5 which will be repaired, even though mine is a grey market camera there will be no cost for repair.
To be fair, i haven't really hassled them until today as im a fair weather shooter so the camera would probably have been kept in a cupboard anyway, all in all im 100% happy with the service ive gotten from Panamoz and Nikonbut still took them long enough to diagnose and probably another few days if not week or 2 to repair??? a long time not to have your new camera 07/12/2014 to 15/01/2015 and still going on so that's LOOONG.

Believe me im not, when i was shooting pro and even using my Nikon Pro account for a repair i had to wait 8 weeks for a repair to a D3S and 400mm f/2.8 because most of the Nikon service staff were on duty at the Olympics making sure the big agencies were getting all their gear done before anyone else, i just dont see the point in moaning and complaining when theres no need, my camera will be back with me long before i intend/need to use it.You are far too accommodating.![]()
Nikon USA has released a statement regarding the sudden disappearance of its D750 DSLR from US retailers. Just last week the company offered to repair D750's that have flare issues caused by the position of their AF sensors.
The official statement reads:
Nikon is working with retailers to replenish stock with cameras to which measures to address this issue have been applied. In late January, Nikon will announce details to service cameras from users, free of charge
Not yet!Anyone used the 80-400mm on a d750?
All good. Still reckon the screw drives focus quicker.
Really really tempted to pull the trigger on this despite the issues of flare.
Only thing is, which of my current lenses will transfer over?
35mm DX is out.
.
I use the 35mm G DX all the time with the D750.
You don't need to take my word for it:
Absolutely. And it's so small and light. That lens is far better than it should be for the price!

Nikkor 50mm F1.8G should be ok? Or should I go for the bundle with the 1.4?
Tamron 90mm F2.8 macro?
I know the nikon 17-55mm F2.8 won't work until the 24mm mark, but I'm keeping the D7000 as a backup anyway...
I have an order placed with HDEW, they have advised that they have taken it off their website but current orders will still be delivered. Any problems will result in a replacement unit or the fix from Nikon once available late January. It seems to me that the probelm is massively blown out of proportion on certain forums /sites but their is a solution and companies will honor any fixes required. Hopefully my unit will not have any problems, most people seem to be fine.

I think for Nikon to take back all the stock they have with retailers shows that they think it is a significant problem, if only in numbers, and/or maybe so random that they can't say what serial numbers it affects. If it were only a small problem they would let people buy the cameras, let them see if they have the problem, of those that see it as a problem, and then replace the small numbers they would receive.
To still say that it has been blown out of proportion seems a bit silly imho.
The recall is a PR exercise that would never have happened pre-Internet.
That's great.I'm shooting a wedding this Sunday with a D750 and have no concerns whatsoever.
That's great. And because your camera doesn't have the problem, and even if it did, it sounds like you wouldn't care,
everyone else who does have the problem, move up the repair\replace queue by one.

FFS, try just going back a few posts at least, lazy sod.Without going back through all 59 pages on here has anyone experience the problem on this forum? If you have, did you only find it looking for it or has it appeared during actual shooting?
And everyone who has a good one would say exactly the same, strange though that the Nikon service manager told me they are getting a shipment of 500 replacement AF modules and 1,000 shielding strips for those not as badly affected, it appears that there are AF modules from different suppliers and one batch is approx 1mm different than the rest in size.I await the first person to trigger a band on a 'fixed' one, I'm positive it will happen as much as I'm positive that the Internet fallout will be significant, but at the same time you could cause the exact same issue on a 6D, 7D MkII a D7000 and many, many other DSLRs.

I was told they have almost 120 cameras returned already that need a new AF module (mine is one) and more which only require some sort of strip/plate fitting and are they expecting more over the following months with the fault.
Not a clue mate, mine begins 200xxxx, others can be 400xxx, others something totally different, there doesnt seem to be any tie in with serial numbers at all, guys over on FM have a list going of affected numbers but its just totally indiscriminate.Do we know the effected batch numbers Gary?
But in 18 months time time when you want to sell a D750 the question the buyer will want to know is " was it a repaired one or one of the later ones that were sold without the fault?"
