Also my least favourite (though I was alone), 50 is my favourite. Just not used the 28mm much.
Have a serious temptation to pick up the 105 F1.4 for weddings though..
Fantastic lens

With an almost grounds-for-divorce price tag though![]()

Of those who use primes by far the most common is a 35 & 85 lens combo
Next most popular is just a 50
Lazy folk like the 24-70 and the 70-200 lol

Love my 35, but for when I'm out with the family I just love the 85.
Was away for a while due to personal reasons. Hoping to get back to photography soon.
Great to see some new D750 members and those who returned to the dark side. Some are on the fence still.I am guessing JJ bought and sold a million lens while I was away
.
Love the 85 1.8G, my only prime lens.
The 24-85 VR is my go to general purpose and travel lens.
70-200 2.8 - Awesome
35 & 58 here for the most part.
An excellent pairing. All you need is a 20mm and a 100mm and you're sorted.28/50 here!

How did you manage to take that without the LCD freezing in the vacuum of space?Playing about in PS with my toys (for the TP 52 thing) ...

Then buy yourself an MFT setupThe need for high ISO I can understand.
The urge for shallow dof baffles me.
I'm changing my signature to f8 and be there.![]()
Two things spring to mind. Bigger heavier glass to move and shallow DOF making focus more tricky.Question for you 50mm users - went out with mine last night and my mate has the 1.4g on his D810.
The 1.8g is just so much quicker when you focus from near to far or far to near etc. I'm guessing this is because its 1.4 vs 1.8? This was the case on both bodies. The 1.4g is a little bit heavier but other than that they are pretty much identical. I have read that the 1.4g is better built, but TBH they felt the same. Both have nice firm focus ring and both have the usual slight rattles when lightly shaken (not that you should shake your lenses!)
I'm just more interested in what makes 1.8 focus quicker than 1.4?
