Nikon D750 & D780

Yeah the d is a bit clunky but I guess cause it relies on the camera for motor focus.
Mind you if the g is anything like the 35mm I might just get one.

I think for what they cost, everyone should have one.

They feel like a toy, but stopped down a tad to 2.2 they're fine.

Thanks. I still can't make my mind up ;)

I prefer the first, the edge of water under the ledge along with pylons bottom left are catching my eye with the second photo. After the drab weekend it was nice to see some better weather yesterday, but bitterly cold down here, so can only imagine what it was like up there!

Bamford Edge this evening

Composition wise I like this one the best. Good line in lines from the bottom left to the reservoir in the centre. In the other one I find the rock splitting the reservoir in two a little distracting especially the area of bright water under the rock. Perhaps a little more foreground interest in this may help as the sky unfortunately isn't doing much.

Looks like it was cold up there. I've not been to bamford edge, definitely somewhere I need to visit.

I very rarely use the 85 to be honest, I prefer to be closer up, but it's a great lens.

Slowly talking myself into one. Have you owned a 50G or compared, how does it fare in sharpness? I know it doesn't get the highest rating but the pics you've posted look sharp enough to me. I like getting in too and use my 50 quite a bit, would like a better built version and the rendering is super. They are around £850 at Panamoz but none in stock.

Thanks. You've got no excuse you live there ;)
Nice light Toby.
I can't take credit for the light but thanks (y)

Love it. Wish I still lived up there.
Thanks.

All natural no flash today. It was had enough getting ella to get her head flat on the sofa let alone worry about the flash haha
