Some good shots here m8, but the Mk1 Lotus Cortina has to be the cream of the crop.(y)

George.

You need a 1.7x tc before you go... Or a crop bodied D300..

Must look and see if there any for sale anywhere :) or use the Dx mode on the d750

Pointless really as you might aswell just crop in PP...

Thanks Tim and Dave.

Completely agree with Minnnt, pointless feature imo and is no different to cropping in post. Should have bought that 150-600 from Harrisons

Yup keeping my eyes out for another tbh

Great shots Andy.

Loving the 85 1.8g and appreciating it more these days as I almost stopped using it. Went to a friend's place yesterday and shot the images below of their lovely daughter in the lounge in natural light.
All shot wide open at 1.8 and handheld. Should have used a faster speed, but still happy with the results.

Thanks, Andrew. I shoot with camera sharpness set to zero in standard profile and add sharpening in post. I have seen that this workflow gives me better results when using CNX2. My standard setting with unsharpen mask is 40,5 ,0 with most lenses, but the 85 1.8g and the Tamron 70-200 2.8 needs less on intensity as they have really sharp optics to start with.

Thanks for your kind words. I am not just used to LR and find CNX2 better for my workflow. I need to learn LR soon as CNx2 is dead [emoji80].

I think all raw converters are excellent to bring out the best sharpness in a lens, all one needs is use it properly.

As for Nikon cameras, it is proven several times that CNx2, CNXD and ViewNx renders the best colour and tonal values out of the sensor. The next best is Capture One. Having said that more people are using non Nikon raw converters and producing brilliant photographs.

When you say CNx2 is dead is Nikon no longer updating the software?

I do like LR and I think your right Capture One did render the raw better when I trailed it but didn't like the workflow

Yeah, Nikon stopped updating CNX2 as Google pulled the plug on the relationship after they bought Nik.

I use a converter called Nef4NX2 that allows to mask the nef file to fool CNX2 to think it as a Nikon D5300 which was the last Nikon Camera supported on CNX2. It is also the reason why some of my flickr photo shows camera as D5300 or D530 [emoji1] if I forget to change the camera name in the jpg file.

Hmmm. Both sigma 150-600 and tamron 150-600 are the same price. Anybody got real experience with either/both. Anybody used either/both on the d800 as well as the d750?

I have been looking at the Sigma C version, manly because it can be updated and the settings changed via the dock.

I went straight for the Sigma 150-600mm Sport... I preferred the higher build quality over the C and the Tamron.

It's an absolutely fantastic lens on my D750. :)

Even though I have the Tamron if they are the same price I'd choose the Sigma purely to be able to use the dock. Differences in IQ is splitting hairs. When I bought mine the Tamron was £200 cheaper.

Oooh - just been to Jessops and had a hands on play with a D750 with a 50 f1.4 on the front of it - feels sooo much better to hold than my D7200 and that viewfinder - oh my oh my that is nice. Even the sound of the shutter is good. I can feel a splurge of GAS coming soon!
If only I hadn't booked the family holiday yesterday;)

Just a heads up for Saturday ...
Gates open at 8am: I`ll aim to be as close to that time as poss, and will head to the octagon thing for a gallon of coffee ;)

you could always cancel the holiday

D750 is lovely, but the shutter sound is not something that I have seen widely praised!

I have the 150-600 C sigma and the dock ordered, just need to get rid of some of the 5 lenses I have listed in the classifieds soon before the wife divorces me:rolleyes:
