Nikon D750 & D780

Seen a Nikon 35mm DX lens for £65 think i might get it as it cheap and people say they work pretty well on the D750 do we need to select DX mode on the camera?
 
There a post on here a few page back someone bough a DX lens and for the money it does very well.. Anyway I have been looking at 2 lens... 35mm Sigma Art.. YES sigma art bloody hell lol... and a Nikon 24-120
 
Also the Sigma 24-105 Art as that going for £599 now

I think they had it already and tried it on the D750, I certainly wouldn't go out and buy a DX lens for an FX body.

Well I've purchased Gregg's mint looking D750 from the classifieds rather than wait for Panamoz to deliver! I'll stick the cash saved towards some glass.... think that 58mm will be getting ordered now and I'll use the £400 credit I've got with WEX for either a 35mm or Nikon 24mm, 24/35 and the 58mm would be a nice combo.
 
What you bough a D750 off here didn't see one selling.. Glad you bagged one.. That was quick as last week or week before you needed money for your car was it...

I played with the Nikon 24mm today nice lens but feel and bit cheap i think..

Yeah only went up earlier, well as it happened I didn't need the cash for the car in the end as I've just been paid from my business so bought it!
Selling the A7ii was also partially motivated by knowing that deep down I prefer the D750....

The 24mm f1.8G? All of the G lenses are plastic but they seem to be well constructed, brilliant image quality too considering that most of them are relatively cheap.

That Nikkor 58mm is meant to be sheer quality, brilliant.

That 58mm is one sweet lens though.
 
Any clues as to what an 85/1.8G might go for? I've finally decided it's not for me. The focal length does nothing for me and I don't go in for shallow DOF all that often so my 70-200 will cover it. When I needfaster than f2.8 I use my 28mm and 50mm 1.8s - a fantastic pairing IMO.

Wondering what it would offer you really. You seem to prefer primes? I suppose I've had the occasional itch with one too but I know that other than convenience it probably wouldn't measure up to my primes and so I wouldn't use much. Handy as a back up though if full time.

Andy, i'll swap you a 24-70 for a 24 or 58... :whistle:
 
Went to the London photo trade show today. Didn't get much time to check gear which is also a good thing. Nikon booth was like crazy busy with everyone trying to test the D500 and D5. Will visit Nikon booth tomorrow.

I attended a few free classes and demos and it was quite fun. Got a chance to shoot some setup with model and studio lights and in another occasion continuous light. Here's one at Westcott booth with the curved reflector and a continuous light. The light was on low power and the model happily posed for visitors. used my kit lens here :) and had to bump ISO to 800.

You like your kit lens don't you and it seem to do some stunning images and it doesn't cost much either

honestly I have taking some brilliant images.. But I like a zoom and seeing the images taken with the 24-85 what not get one of those and another fast prime instead of a 24-70 that what I am thinking myself

No I tried a few lens out and brough the images back for me to look at....

When I decided I will visit there stall at NEC photo show....
 
Having trouble signing up with Adobe CC at the moment.. £8 odd a month OUCH :p

Yes I know you're talking used prices but I thought they were more £850. Unless of course you're talking Tamron ;)

Pretty good value if you consider the standalone price photoshop was and the fact you'd probably upgrade every 5-6 years or so.

Well, I don't love this lens, but like it a lot for getting the job done for most general instances. Took it with me as I was walking around :D

Here's one taken at the Photographer Academy workshop. They set up a vibrant movie kind of look and although the instructor played with a lot of popcorn flying around to capture moods, I got a chance to shoot Zara the model without popcorn popping around. Zara was extremely patient and nice.
The light was setup as direct spot , bit harsh to get that specific look and the vignette was intentional.
