Nikon D750 & D780

yeah, well almost, but not for a one off lens - but what about all those other toys, like a 150-600 something or a 70-200 something or a... or the... or perhaps a....

Theres a lo0vely 70-200 in the classifieds :naughty:

I saw :D

Now if you wanted some (more!) M43 stuff or flashes for Canon or something then.... ;)

nah, get rid of that Sony nonsense and get an Oly E-M1 + 75mm 1.8 , perhaps with a grip

:coat::exit:

lol, they were for further fun, not the front room, although I have used a 150-500 in the front room... it focused :D

Do you know what's really good? An 18-35 that could be delivered in person...
haha, its okay - are you selling that too? I thought you just got it (or was that something else - I loose track)

lol, no thats sounds like Dave, mine was much simpler - Canon > Olympus MFT (with a Panny GX7) > Nikon

Now if you went into the bodies and lenses within the Canon, then it would be fun!

I actually went Sony A37 > Nikon D7k > Olympus E-M10 > Nikon D7100 > Fuji X-T1/X-E1 > Nikon D750.

The Df looks nice...

6 cameras in just over 6 months. You need to pick up the pace to get 12/12!

Really only 6 months for all that lot?

What did you use in 2014? :nikon:

Loosing kit is never fun - my problem is I keep finding things - mostly accessories from old systems...

Anyway a question for you guys - I was (and sort of still am) considering the 35mm 1.8G, price doesn't seem too bad, but I do have a semi specific function in mind and I want to know if its likely to be the right choice or not - its the Christmas day shots, the pressie opening, that sort of thing, so in close(ish) with in awful lighting (I don't use flash much but really wouldn't want to compete with the tree, plus when I do use it I really really suck), scale wise the rooms not that big, maybe 3.5m x 4m - here are a few pics to give an idea of scale (link), plus I loose the best part of a meter for the tree\pressies etc.

I'll need fast to combat the light (a very early December morning, probably with dim blub light) and short for the room.

So what would you chaps suggest?

You might want to go a bit wider than 35mm in a room of that size. 28mm perhaps?

The forthcoming Nikkor 200-500 f/5.6 sounds tempting... Then again, the Fuji 140-400 (or whatever it'll end up being!) will be longer (in terms of EFL, at least) and lighter (possibly!)

Yep, totally, I started using the Rapid properly this time for everything, not just the big 50-500's and its been luxurious :D

Ironically (if you ever saw me you'd know why!) its the sport I use, if that makes a difference.
