Nikon D7100 LCD Not Working

Hi folks,

Whilst I was on holiday I left my camera outside taking a time-lapse of the milky way. Unfortunately the clouds rolled in and my camera got caught in a downpour! It worked fine for another few days, but now the LCD won't come on at all and I'm guessing it has been damaged by the rain.

I think I'm going to have to sent it back to Nikon to be repaired, but I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

My first thought is can water get into the LCD on a D7100 or is it more likely to have caused an internal camera fault,unfortunately after a repair quote you could be looking at cheaper to replace,although i hope not.

That's what I was wondering, it is weather sealed but the lens I had fitted wasn't. Everything else seems to be working apart from the LCD.
