Hi all, I've got a D7100 and had it since new. Always took great pics coupled with either my Sigma 150-600 S or Nikon 300mm f2.8. Recently I seemed to be having an issue with overexposure. I checked all my settings and couldn't come up with an explanation (not that I am any form of expert). I did a factory reset and that didn't seem to solve the issue. I swapped lenses and it persisted. I have done a firmware update while I was about it and still the same. I have come tot he conclusion that there may be a fault with the camera itself. Any idea how to try and problem solve where exactly the issue lies?
I set both my D7100 and my D500 with the same lens with identical settings for ISO, focal points and metering modes and time and time again the 7100 gives an image that is too bright. I shoot in manual with auto ISO on both cameras set to 100-2500. I tend to use spot metering as I shoot small birds in the garden. I have switched to centre weighted and matrix which does have an affect on the images so I know that is working, but it still seems too bright and washed out .. Any suggestions ??
