Hi, I am after some advice from those who use the Nikon D7000 for wedding photography and on lens. I am due to get the above camera next weekend and currently I am shadowing a pro wedding photographer. In time I wish to have 2/3 lenses with the above body, for when I progress to become an assistant wedding photographer. I have been advised to get a 50mm 1.4 / 1.8, any advice on the next two I need to save up for?

70-200mm or 80-200 and maybe the 17-55mm or third party equivalent?

Agree with this. I guess it depends on one's style but I'd far rather have a pair of fast zooms than anything too specific. I've only shot one wedding but I just didn't feel I had the time to worry about changing lenses so two zooms worked really well for me.

I'm not sure I'd bother with the 50mm for weddings though it's probably cheap enough that you maybe might as well have one in the bag. Maybe a macro lens as well or instead for those fine details.

Depends on funds, Agree with Gad-Westy that a mid zoom will help and save time chopping and changing. Maybe the 18-105mm as that's a cheap lens.

Which lens do you use? I've recently upgraded to a Nikon D7000..

Isn't this essentially the same question you asked here:

Hi, thank you for your reply.

The posts are similar, but are not the same. More like a continuation I guess on the topic.

The first post is asking advice on my first lens that I should buy.

As I now have my first lens, the second post was asking what should be my 2nd and 3rd purchase for my lens. I needed advice on this topic, as I wanted to budget to know how much it would cost.

Hope that clarifies your query.

Thanks.
