If I have my D7000 SD card slots as over-flow, the max shot count remains the same whether I have just slot 1 with a card in it or have a card in slot 2 as well. E.g. 16GB SD card in slot 1, RAW quality, max shots 461. Add an 8GB card to slot 2, and max shot count still says 461 (where I would expect it to say 690 odd!). Am I missing something blindingly obvious here?
 
Mine does that too.

The shots remaining count only looks at the active card. So once the first fills, it'll switch to the second and saw shots remaining on that one.
