Thinking about getting the 35mm for my newly aquired D7000 mainly for bands in pubs/small venues. Seen them going for £120 ish secondhand, so was wondering how they perform for a budget lens. I'd appreciate if anyone could show me some sample shots of said lens taken with a D7000?

Much appreciated.

The 35m f1.8g is a cracker of a lens. Even more so when you take into account the price.

If you want to look at sample images from others then I'd recommend the pixel-peepers website.

Using that you can search for photos others have posted by lens and camera.

I've do a lot of live work and most of the time now I just leave the house with a fast 50mm equivalent and that's it. It focuses the mind wonderfully (pun intended)!

The 35mm DX is superb and perfect for your intended use. The crucial aspect to getting good live shots is autofocus technique - use a cross-type sensor (the 9 central points on a D7000) and AF-C. You'll be shooting wide open or close to it most of the time which really needs the AF system to be accurate. I'd do a few AF checks (compare standard AF with live view AF wide open on a flat perpendicular target) to make sure your camera is properly calibrated. Nikon have dropped the ball on this (and plenty of other things) and the past few years.

Good luck and I look forward to seeing the results!
