Nikon D700 strap help

So picked a d700 up few weeks back didn’t like the original strap and picked up a op tech strap but its connector is totally different.

It’s Same as the original Nikon one , what am I missing I presume it’s like a key chain ring if so what’s correct name and when can they be bought ?

Split rings. Usually circular. Available from fishing tackle suppliers, the best ones have a breaking strain so you know you can trust them.
