I have the chance of getting a 18 month old D700 in a deal thith an old guy at my local camera club, the deal is not camera related on my side and this thing is going to end up standing me at £1225 the guy would rather use his D200 and has never used this D700 and recons it wont have done more than a couple of hundred shots but I need a way to verifie it, so what do I need to get the count?

A raw file from the camera, or a jpeg direct from the camera, then use the exif to discover the shutter count.

Definately!

I searched long and hard for one before buying new and they are fetching more than that on a popular auction site!

2nd hand examples are thin on the ground and a little used model for £1225 is rather good.

I just used opanda Iexif 2.3 and got this.Total Number of Shutter Releases for Camera = 49

Look, if you dont want it, tell him I will have it and even drive there and pick it up! :D

edit: I would double check the number by using the flickr thing or some other method, that way you are sure ;-)
I have got it now and I dont want it, I have someone in the wanted section interested. This camera is like new, I tried uploading a pic to flickr but it gets to 99% and just hangs.

:bang: aarrgghhh, just seen it. Will post over there anyway, as breaking forum rules isnt good for staff to do ;)
The first person that says they want it can have it, I dont want it. I just want my money back out of it.
