Nikon D600 Service Advisory - 28/3/2014

You have to be impressed with this level of service especially if they follow through with it.

Not really. They dodged the issue for the last couple of years and have only been persuaded to do this, by threats of a class action law suit.
Also, I'd be curious, as to the exact number of times, several times relates too. Could be 2 could be 22!

I've come to think of x10 products of nikon as a fault fixed version of previous product :-(

Well, that was an interesting phone call I just had with the Nikon UK service center.

They assure/guarantee me that they are using D610 shutters to replace the faulty D600 ones (there were some who were saying that they wouldn't fit in the D600 body).

This is a direct contradiction to what the byThom website states;
http://www.dslrbodies.com/newsviews/d600-apology-and-clear.html

(They will send this to me in writing and via e-mail as confirmation).

Also, they are currently 'out of stock' on D610 shutters here in the UK and are awaiting supply. Pathetic.

I could not be given a definition of what 'several times' means if this problem ever occurs again.

I had heard that some people were getting theirs replaced with a D610. Don't know if this is true or not.
