Whenever I take a shot with built in flash, or my SB 600, there is a lag of about 3 seconds. This is not due to auto focus.. I have tried it in MF mode too. The flash fires 3 times before the picture is taken :shake: Why is this? Its REALLY annoying, I didnt change any settings to make it do this either. One minute it was working, the next it wasnt.

Any thoughts?

Have you got a red eye setting? that causes multipul flashes.

its a pre exposure thing, it does it with all DSLR's, it fires a series of three flashes to get the right data which is sent back to the camera quickly so it can gain a perfect exposure. i hate the pre exposure too because people move after one flash has gone so it ruins the actual photo.

My D60 doesn't do that, neither does my A200

Ok never mind. I just removed then replaced the battery and it now works :)
