My boss at work has a Nikon D60 and it has the message "CHR" in the bottom left of the LCD at the top of the camera, and it also says "card error" when trying to view the photos, so does anyone know:-

1 - What CHR means?
2 - How to format the card?

Thanks

NOt sure exactly on the D60, but format will be in the menu, usually the one with the spanner icon tab IIRC, though on higher models, you can do it by pressing two of the body buttons simultaneously, but it depends on the camera as to which two. I pressume the D60 has that function. I think, though not totaaly sure, I got CHR when I hadn't pushed the card fully in a few weeks ago - certainly I didnt get one of the more usual error codes such as you get for wrong aperture or no card.

It can't possibly be a D60 if it takes a CF card.

The D60 doesn't have a top LCD display either.

Your boss is clearly insane :)

Yup D60 is definitely SD and no top lcd

LOL, whatever it is, it has a top LCD and takes CF card...

anyhow, he took it into jessops, and it turns out to be a bend pin.
