Nikon D5500

Just go my new D5500, My last one was D3100 so still learning.
Tried he Continuous mode from the instructions from manual but it still only takes one shot.
What am I doing wrong?

Well then I'd check what darkman suggests, and make sure your flash isn't firing.

Flash is firing will have a look at manual to turn it off.
