Nikon D5300

I'm thinking of changing from my D3200 to the D5300,if I can get a decent deal on part exchange,has anyone got one and if so is it worth the upgrade?Thanks

The 5300 was only released about three days ago. I doubt many people will have one yet.
It doesn't seem to be a great improvement on the 5200, which will probably drop in price.

According to some reviews the 5200 is not that much better than the 3200. (I have a 5200)

I've just looked at digitalrev, the 5200 is at £390 and the 5300 is on preoreder.

Thanks for the reply,I have been given a px price for my D3100 and D3200 so will have a think about it for a while and see what deals appear and wait for more reviews.

Ive had my camera since july, i already want the 3200!

Just been comparing the 5200, 3200 and d40x, the d40x is SO basic!

As people have said, it isn't out yet, so no real reviews. I wouldn't have thought it would be worth it from an image quality point of view, I think you should look to at least skip a sensor generation to get a noticeable increase in IQ.

Thanks again for the replies,I was probably a bit premature in thinking there would have been a few reviews/owners opinions already.Time to sit back and have a think rather than rushing in as per normal!!

D5300 release price body only is £729 - you can get a D7100 for less than that (around £700 with the £100 Nikon cashback). I know which one I would rather have.

lolprice compared to d7100. Never going to happen.

This is pretty much always the case with release prices. I seem to recollect the D7100 was over £1k at launch. I'm sure the price will be heavily slashed once the new kit bubble has burst.

WiFi can be added to the 5200 and 3200 for about £40 (the most useful "upgrade") GPS is a bit more costly however can be done with a phone for next to nothing.

It offers very little (to nothing) over the 5200 other than maybe crop mode and the improvement in video frame rate.

The main winge for video shooters seems to be the lack of manual control over aperture and exposure? If they have added the ability to change these then it will a marked improvement.
