nikon d5100 file names

hey, i was just wondering if anyone knows how to name files in camera?

i have a horse show tomorrow and am remembering how much trouble i had with classes last time so wondered if there was a way i can change file name to the classes anyone know?

I don't think you can custom name files with the d5100. You maybe able to create specific folders though. Have a look at the manual:

Page 152 and 162 maybe of interest.

You could always just scribble the event on a notebook and photograph it. I often shoot my hand to provide breaks.
