Hi all, my friend is looking at getting a Nikon D5000 to take photos of his paintings at a size of about A2 and is wondering if this camera would be upto the job and anyone have any clue to which lens he should get?

Depends on his budget...the kit lens 18-55mm vr would do the job and not to shappy for the money.
